A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
A LETTER OF INTENT TO SHARE COSTS FOR FLOODWALL RESTORATION
WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has provided a shoreline
study which includes the entire limits of the City of Paducah's Floodwall Protection
System; and
WHEREAS, as a result of this study, the Corps has estimated restoration
of this facility will cost approximately $5.2 million; and
WHEREAS, compulsory to the Corps submitting this project for
Congressional funding approval, the City of Paducah must provide a Letter of Intent
stating its obligation for 35% of the total approved Project.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is here by authorized to execute a Letter of
Intent to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the purpose of obtaining Corps of
Engineers assistance for costs of rehabilitating the City's existing flood protection facility
along the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. The City's obligation will be 35% of the total
approved project cost.
SECTION 2. This order shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its adoption.
