HomeMy WebLinkAboutPower line along Perkins Creek16 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION STATING OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED LOCATION OF A HIGH VOLTAGE OVERHEAD POWER LINE ALONG PERKINS CREEK. WHEREAS, the proposed location of the overhead transmission line along Perkins Creek adversely impacts some of the most attractive and most valuable commercial & residential property in the City of Paducah. WHEREAS, several properties along the proposed route have invested large sums of money to place all their utilities underground. WHEREAS, the City of Paducah requests that the high-voltage power line be placed underground or be placed in existing public rights-of--way where the vista is already obstructed by power lines. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky: That the City Commission opposes the proposed location of a high voltage overhead power line along Perkins Creek, and that the Mayor is authorized to enter into legal action to oppose construction of the overhead line.
