HomeMy WebLinkAboutMO # 833MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. %33 A MUNICIPAL ORDER WAIVING ONE PERCENT (1%) OF CITY OCCUPATIONAL WAGE TAX TO PROMOTE JOB CREATION AT THE SERVICE SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is in support of Service Script and the expansion of its operations through construction of a headquarters/distribution facility in Paducah's Information Age Park; ; and WHEREAS, the $2.6 million expansion will allow Service Script to add sixty new jobs in two years, which will bring their total employment to seventy-six; ; and WHEREAS, the City of Paducah agrees to waive one percent (1%) of the local occupational wage tax on the new jobs created, as required by the Kentucky Jobs Development Act incentive program, for a period of ten (10) years, to the extent it is able; and WHEREAS, the City of Paducah requests the State to provide a four percent (4%) match for this incentive program in order to assist with this economic development program. SECTION 1. The City of Paducah is hereby authorized to waive one percent (1%) of its local occupational wage tax on new jobs created, as required by the Kentucky Jobs Development Act incentive program, for a period of ten (10) years, to the extent it is able, for the expansion of the Script Service Development. SECTION 2. This Order shall be in full force and effect on and after the date of its adoption.
