A MUNICIPAL ORDER AMENDING RESIDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR
THE RENAISSANCE KENTUCKY PADUCAH ADVISORY BOARD
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established the Renaissance Kentucky
Paducah Advisory Board.
SECTION 2. The purpose of this Board as directed by the Renaissance Kentucky
Alliance will be to establish goals and priorities for the implementation of Renaissance projects for
a five (5) year period commencing September 25, 1998.
SECTION 3. The membership of said Board shall have ten members, three shall
be non-voting ex -officio members consisting of the City Manager, City Planner (or a Planning
staff member chosen by the City Planner) and the MainStreet Director. From time to time other
ex -officio members may be appointed for special tasks or assignments.
Voting members shall be appointed as follows:
a) The MainStreet Board of Directors shall submit to the mayor a resolution
nominating a slate of six (6) candidates. The Mayor shall choose four (4).
b) The Mayor shall choose three (3) at -large members.
c) All appointments shall be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
SECTION 4. All members shall have either a residential, property, business,
employment, or professional interest in the economic, cultural, or historical aspects of the 60
block Renaissance area.
SECTION 5. The members of this Board shall serve without compensation from
the City, may not incur indebtedness to be paid by the City, and the City shall not be responsible
for debts incurred by said Board. Board members may be reimbursed for any expenses for travel,
lodging and meals incident to their duties on said Board.
SECTION 6. The duties of this Board shall be as follows:
a) Meet monthly
b) Develop by-laws
C) Set goals and objectives
1 d) Give policy direction to City and MainStreet Staff in implementing
Renaissance, per the designation application (as adopted by Resolution
dated June 9, 1998)
SECTION 7. This Order will be in full force and effect from and after the date of
its adoption.
