HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-10-8090ORDINANCE 2013-10-8090 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #2 WITH MAC CONSTRUCTION & EXCAVATING, INC., FOR THE RIVERFRONT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PHASE 1-A, PILES AND MASS FILL, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CHANGE ORDER WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2013-4-8029 to enter into an agreement �. with MAC Construction & Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $4,490,600.00 for Riverfront Redevelopment Project Phase 1-A, Piles and Mass Fill; and WHEREAS, the City approved Change Order #1 approved by Ordinance No. 2013-8- 8062.to increase the contract amount by $16,800.00 to allow for the demolition of the Executive Inn concrete slab for use as mass fill and to decrease the contract amount by $16,800.000 deducting 1,400 tons of Stone Fill at $12.00, therefore, an increase was not necessary to the total project cost of $4,490,600.00; and WHEREAS, all work associated with the Contract for Phase 1-A Project has been completed; and WHEREAS, to finalize payment for the project, Change Order #2 is requested in the amount of $314,428.82, for the combination of the three items listed below the new total contract price amount will be $4,805,028.82; and 1. Extension of the Gangway Piles $192,428.82 2. Temporary Shut -Down Barge Retainage $ 42,000.00 3. Orderly Shut-Down/Project Stabilization $ 80,000.00 Total of Change Order #2 $314,428.82 WHEREAS, in order to provide the additional expenses associated with Change Order #2 the Finance Director is authorized and directed to transfer $50,000 from the Investment Fund to the Riverfront Development Project account and reduce the transfer to the MAP Fund by $50,000. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby approves Change Order No.2 with MAC Construction & Excavating, Inc.in the amount of $314,428.82, therefore, increasing the total contract price to $4,805,028.82 for the Riverfront Redevelopment Project Phase 1-A, Piles and Mass Fill. SECTION 2. With the approval of Change Order No. 2 in Section 1 above, the Finance Director is authorized and directed to transfer the required additional $50,000 from the Investment Fund to the Riverfront Development Project account and reduce the transfer from the Investment Fund to the MAP Fund by $50,000. SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 approved in Section 1 above. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. A TEST: Tammara S.
