HomeMy WebLinkAboutCompetitiveness Recommendations174 RESOLUTION LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION ENDORSING COMPETITIVENESS RECOMMENDATIONS RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the highest priority for the Paducah City Commission is to develop a strong ~~ local economy and make Paducah a regional center for the four state area; and ~. WHEREAS, building jobs in Kentucky is top priority for the Western Kentucky Legislative Delegation and Governor Fletcher's administration; and WHEREAS, GPEDC President Wayne Sterling and the GPEDC Board have compared Kentucky's, Paducah's and McCracken County's economic development competitiveness with that of other states and prepared a series of proposals to strengthen our competitive position; an WHEREAS, several of the specific items in the attached "Paducah/McCracken County Competitive Recommendations" require legislative action. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah endorses the attached competitiveness recommendations and requests the Western Kentucky Legislative Delegation introduce and support legislation to implement the recommendations that require legislative action.
