HomeMy WebLinkAboutMO # 1145MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 1145 A MUNICIPAL ORDER INSTRUCTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A CELL PHONE POLICY FOR DESIGNATED CITY OF PADUCAH EMPLOYEES BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby implements a monthly cell phone stipend for designated employees. Only employees whose job duties require that they be able to communicate by cell phone will be eligible to receive the monthly stipend. The department director and City Manager will determine eligibility. SECTION 2. The City Manager is instructed to promulgate administrative procedures to implement the cell phone stipend. SECTION 3. The current stipend is set at $40.00 per month for each eligible employee. This amount will be reviewed and adjusted at the beginning of each new fiscal year to reflect future cell phone rate plans. SECTION 4. In order for an employee to receive a monthly cell phone stipend he/she must comply with the defined cell phone administrative provisions. SECTION 5. Current City issued cell phones that are still under contract will be phased out as the contracts expire. Employees will not be allowed to switch to the stipend plan unless the cell phone contract their phone is under has expired or can be switched without incurring any penalties from the cell phone provider. SECTION 6. During the phase out period employees are to refrain from personal use of their City issued cell phone. SECTION 7. This Municipal Order shall be effective from and after the date of its adoption. ATTEST: &6ek • Tammara S.
