A MUNICIPAL ORDER ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO. 9A TO THE
COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFIT PLAN SUMMARY FOR
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR
COMPLIANCE WITH THE HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND
ACCOUNTABILITY ACT
WHEREAS, by Municipal Order No. 1077, on June 22, 2004, the City of
Paducah adopted a Revised Health Insurance Master Plan Document for employees of the
City of Paducah, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to update this plan in order to include
Privacy Standards as mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act of 1996 (HIPAA) by addressing Disclosure of Electronic Protected Health
Information for individuals under the City's health insurance plan.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah adopts Amendment No. 9A to the
Comprehensive Health Insurance Benefit Plan Summary for Employees of the City of
Paducah. This amendment includes Privacy Standards for Disclosure of Electronic
Protected Health Information as mandated by the recently revised Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute
documents necessary for the City to become compliant with the Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, as amended.
SECTION 3. This order shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its adoption.
