A MUNICIPAL ORDER ADOPTING THE CITY OF PADUCAH'S
RIVERFRONT REDEVELOPMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2005-12-7054 on December 13, 2005, the
r City of Paducah authorized a contract with JJR to develop a riverfront master plan to
enhance Paducah's riverfront in order to attract new tourism, recreation, and economic
development opportunities for the City; and
WHEREAS, the consultant, JJR, has now completed this plan; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners authorizes and directs City
personnel to engineer and build the boat ramp and excursion dock only. For now, the
plan will allow the riverfront vehicle route to remain open from the foot of Broadway to
the foot of Kentucky Avenue pending further funding. However, this issue will be
studied further and the final decision on whether the riverfront will remain open will be
based upon public input and best use for this portion of the Riverfront in the future; and
WHEREAS, the City now desires to adopt the conceptual riverfront plan.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby adopts the Paducah Riverfront
Redevelopment Plan dated March 2007.
SECTION 2. This order shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its adoption.
