MUNICIPAL ORDER NO. 1308
A MUNICIPAL ORDER NAMING THE PLAYING FIELD AT
BROOKS STADIUM THE DOC HIDEG FIELD
WHEREAS, Dr. Frank "Doc" Hideg has dedicated years of service to
restore Brooks Stadium to the showplace it has become; and
} WHEREAS, "Doc" Hideg compiled a winning percentage of seventy-five
percent as a manager of the Paducah Post 31 American Legion baseball team, and
WHEREAS, his undying love for the game, the kids, and the legacy
surrounding the stadium, have brought many big events to it, such as the Ohio Valley
Conference Baseball Championship tournament, National American Legion Regional
Tournaments and Post 31 Tournaments; and
WHEREAS, whether is putting the season together, getting volunteers to
work at the Stadium or getting dirty himself by cleaning up the field; and
WHEREAS, the Brooks Stadium Commission has requested the playing
field be named the Dr. Frank "Doc Hideg Field"; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to express its gratitude to Dr.
Frank "Doc" Hideg in a formal manner which will stand as a reminder to all of his legacy
to the City of Paducah.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby names the playing field at
Brooks Stadium the "Dr. Frank "Doc" Hideg Field".
SECTION 2. This Order will be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its adoption.
