AN ORDINANCE FINALIZING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE
CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY
TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE SAID CORPORATE LIMITS
WHEREAS, a tract of property adjacent to the
present city limits, along Olivet Church Road, is urban in
character and suitable for development for urban purposes
without unreasonable delay.
WHEREAS, the property is contiguous to the
present corporate limits of the City, and it is desirable
and necessary to annex the hereinafter described property.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is not within the
boundary of another incorporated city; and
WHEREAS, KRS 81A.412 provides that a city may
annex any area which meets the necessary requirements if
each of the owners of record of such land consent in
writing to the annexation; and
WHEREAS, the owners have requested such
annexation in writing to the Mayor and Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Paducah have enacted Ordinance 92-3-4733 expressing the
intentions of the City of Paducah to annex and make a part
of the City of Paducah the territory described below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That it is the intent of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky to annex the hereinafter described
property and therefore, that the hereinafter described
property be annexed to, and be made a part of, the City of
Paducah, Kentucky; the said real property being more par-
ticularly and accurately described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the
existing city limits and the east right of way of
Olivet Church Road (Kentucky Highway 988), said point
being the common corner to the north line of a 275
foot wide Tennessee Valley Authority powerline
easement, said point also being approximately 2,130
feet from the north right of way of U.S. Highway 62;

thence with the west right of way line of Olivet
Church Road, South 190 38' 54" West a distance cf
450.86 feet to an iron pin;
thence with the west right of way line of Olivet
Church Road, if projected, South 190 38' 54" West a
distance of 99.79 feet to a point;
thence North 710 41' 43" West a distance of 45.01
feet to an iron pin set in the west right of way line
of Olivet Church Road and the north line of the
Jackson Purchase E.C.C. substation site (Deed Book
715, Page 411);
thence with lines common to said Jackson Purchase
property as follows: North 710 41' 42" West a
distance of 55.94 feet to an iron pin, South 190 18'
17" West a distance of 200.00 feet to an iron pin,
North 710 41' 42" West a distance of 125.00 feet to an
iron pin, South 190 14' 41" West a distance of 320.00
feet to an iron pin, and South 710 41' 43" East a
distance of 200.00 feet to an iron pin set in the west
line of the lands now or formally owned by Mostafa
Shayeghi (Deed Book 745, Page 597);
thence with the west line of said Shayeghi
property, South 190 16' 04" West a distance of 329.68
feet to a concrete monument set at a corner common to
the lands now or formally owned by Walter Robins Howe
(Deed Book 671, Page 214);
thence with the northern lines of the said Howe
property as follows: North 730 36' 48" West a
distance of 520.47 feet to a steel post, North 100 00'
511' West a distance of 215.04 feet to a steel post,
J South 880 26' 45" West a distance of 150.33 feet to a
steel post, North 790 11' 31" West a distance of
167.63 feet to a steel post, South 320 13' 02" West a
distance of 112.17 feet to an iron pin, and North 710
22' 58" West a distance of 609.22 feet to a concrete
post found at a fence corner;
thence with the west line of said Howe property,
South 180 57' 49" West a distance of 2,503.30 feet to
an iron pin set in the north right of way line of U.S.
Highway 62, said pin being removed 30.0 feet from the
centerline of said highway;
thence with the north right of way line of said
U.S. Highway 62, South 690 04' 29" West a distance of
1,957.48 feet to a concrete monument set at the
intersection of the north right of way line of U.S.
Highway 62 and the east right of way line of the
Lamond - Purdue Road, said monument being located
approximately 1,960 feet west along U.S. Highway 62
from the center of the Massac Church Road;
thence from the point of beginning and with the
east right of way line of the Lamond - Purdue Road,
North 181 59' 41" East a distance of 1,207.46 feet to
an iron pin set in a line common to the lands now or
formerly owned by Craig W. Houseman (Deed Book 642,
Page 803);
thence with a line common to the said Houseman
property, South 700 43' 55" East a distance of 20.00
feet to a concrete monument;
thence with the east line of the said Houseman
property, North 190 16' 05" East a distance of
1,087.00 feet to a concrete monument;
thence with the north line of the said Houseman
property, North 700 43' 55" West (passing an iron pin
at a distance of 1,477.00 feet) a total distance of
1,577.00 feet to a point in the center of the Middle
Fork of the Massac Creek;
thence with the center of said creek, South 480
33' 15" West a distance of 15.01 feet to a point, said
point being the northeast corner of the lands now or
formerly owned by the Peoples First National Bank and
Trust Company, (Deed Book 575, Page 138);
thence with the north line of said Bank property,
North 710 18' 19" West (passing an iron pin at a
distance of 50.00 feet) a total distance of 931.50

the lands now or formerly owned by Shirley L. Russell

thence with the east line of said Russell
property, North 190 27' 28" East a distance of
1,307.91 feet to an iron pin set at a fence corner
common to the lands now or formerly owned by William
T. Stewart (Deed Book 404, Page 125);
thence with the east line of said William Stewart
property, North 190 19' 46" East a distance of
2,150.36 feet to an iron pin set at a fence corner
common to the lands now or formerly owned by William
T. Stewart, Jr. and Mark O. Stewart (Deed Book 683,
Page 212);
thence with the east line of said William and
Mark Steward property, North 190 37' 27" East a
distance of 1,848.02 feet to an iron pin found at a
fence corner common to the lands now or formerly owned
by Glendon Campbell (Deed Book 694, Page 259);
thence with the east line of the said Campbell

(passing a corner common to the lands now or formerly

Utilities 150 foot wide powerline easement at 1,018.73

monument removed 25 feet from the centerline of said
roadway;
thence South 720 02' 16" East a distance of 45.02
feet to a point in the east right of way line of
Olivet Church Road;
thence with the east right of way line of Olivet
Church Road, South 190 38' 54" West a distance of
89.89 feet to the point of beginning.
Said annexation contains 589.23 acres.
SECTION 2. This ordinance of annexation shall be
read on two separate days and upon publication the territory
described above shall become a part of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky for all purposes.
