ORDINANCE NO. 92-9-4832
AN ORDINANCE FINALIZING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY
TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE SAID CORPORATE LIMITS
WHEREAS, a tract or property west of and adjacent to
the present city limits, along Holt Road, is urban in character
and suitable for development for urban purposes without
unreasonable delay; and
WHEREAS, the property is contiguous to the present
corporate limits of the City, and it is desirable and necessary
to annex the hereinafter described property; and
WHEREAS, said tract of land is not within the
boundary of another incorporated city; and
WHEREAS, KRS 81A.412 provides that a city may annex
any area which meets the necessary requirements if each of the
owners of record of such land consent in writing to the
annexation; and
WHEREAS, the owners have requested such annexation in
writing to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, to finalize the annexation of the hereinafter
described property, and therefore that the hereinafter
described property be annexed to, and be made a part of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky; said real property being more
particularly and accurately described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the west right of way line of
Holt Road at the intersection of the said right of
way line and the south property line of the Paducah
Country Club Tract I, as described in Deed Book 695,
page 378, of record in the office of the McCracken
County Clerk, said point is located 205 feet north of
the intersection of the centerline of Turnberry Road
and the west right of way of Holt Road as measured
along said right of way line, also being a point in
the existing limits of the City of Paducah; thence
south 85 degrees 28 minutes 23 seconds east a
distance of 40 feet to a point in the east line of
Holt Road; thence south 04 degrees 31 minutes 37
seconds west for a distance of 135.07 feet to a
concrete monument set by others; thence south 83
degrees 14 minutes 44 seconds east for a distance of
504.23 feet to an iron pin with cap set in the center
of a creek and passing through an iron pin set by
others at 406.46 feet; thence north 53 degrees 46
minutes 20 seconds east for a distance of 137.69 feet
with the center of the creek to an iron pin with cap
set; thence north 06 degrees 21 minutes 10 seconds
east for a distance of 34.08 feet with the center of
the creek to an iron pin with cap set; thence north
74 degrees 34 minutes 54 seconds east for a distance
of 450.18 feet with the center of the creek to an
iron pin with cap set in a fence if extended to said
low
creek; thence north 01 degrees 11 minutes 54 seconds
west for a distance of 635.13 feet with said fence to
a concrete monument set by others, passing through an
iron pin with cap set at 434.31 feet; thence north 71
degrees 17 minutes 29 seconds west for a distance of
447.49 feet with a fence to a stone at a fence
corner; thence north 88 degrees 02 minutes 08 seconds
west for a distance of 267.72 feet with a fence to a
concrete monument at the northeast corner of property
described in Deed Book 520, page 444; thence south 04
degrees 26 minutes 04 seconds west for a distance of
74.79 feet with the east line of said property to an
iron pin with cap set; thence north 87 degrees 54
minutes 39 seconds west for a distance of 268.12 feet
with the south line of said property and passing
through a concrete monument set by others; thence
south 04 degrees 31 minutes 37 seconds west for a
distance of 215.56 feet with the east line of Holt
Road to a concrete monument set by others; thence
south 85 degrees 43 minutes 14 seconds east for a
distance of 350.00 feet with the north property
described in Deed Book 635, page 41, to a concrete
monument set by others; thence south 04 degrees 31
minutes 52 seconds west for a distance of 138.23 feet
with the east line of said property to a concrete
monument set by others; thence north 85 degrees 03
minutes 16 seconds west for a distance of 350.00 feet
to a concrete monument; thence north 85 degrees 28
minutes 23 seconds west for a distance of 40 feet to
a point in the west line of Holt Road; also being a
point in the existing city limits; thence south 04
degrees 31 minutes 37 seconds west for a distance of
416.29 feet to the point of beginning. Said property
contains 19.5 acres more or less.
SECTION 2. This ordinance of annexation shall be
read on two separate days and upon publication the territory
described above shall become a part of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, for all purposes.
