AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE KENTUCKY DIVISION OF EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR A MATCHING GRANT FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ONE (1) DIESEL POWERED GENERATOR WITH AUTOMATIC
TRANSFER SWITCH TO BE INSTALLED AT FIRE STATION#1
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for a Federal Emergency Management
Agency Grant adopted by Municipal Order No. 1621 on July 26, 2011, for the purchase of one
diesel powered generator; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Ordinance No. 2012-10-7983,
accepting an award in the amount of $75,120 to purchase and install one (1) 125kw fixed diesel
powered generator at Fire Station No. 1; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) notified the
City on April 25, 2013, that there are changes to the contract which do not affect the city's award
amount nor performance and completion, however the contract does require the Mayor's
signature, therefore requiring approval by the Board of Commissioners for the Mayor to execute
the contract.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract
(Doc ID No: PON2 095 1200003957 ) with the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management
for a 2011 Hazardous Mitigation Program Award in the amount of $75,120 in federal funds and
$12,019 in state monies for the purchase of one (1) diesel powered generator with automatic
transfer switch to be installed at Fire Station #1. The City's cash match will be in the amount of
$13,020.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Project F10026.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
