ORDINANCE #93-5- 4936
AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND ADOPTING
ACTION TAKEN BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES' PENSION FUND
ON JANUARY 13, 1992, INCREASING MONTHLY
PENSIONS PAID TO RETIRED MEMBERS AND
WIDOWS OF RETIRED MEMBERS BY TEN PERCENT
(10%) RETROACTIVE TO JANUARY 1, 1992
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has enrolled most
current employees of the City who are under civil service
into the Kentucky County Employees Retirement System; and
WHEREAS, there still remains the Appointive
Employees' Pension Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of said fund met on
January 13, 1992, and upon the advice and recommendation of
C. Wayne Golightly, auditor, and motion made and duly
seconded, voted to increase monthly pensions paid to retired
members and widows of retired members by ten percent (10%)
retroactive to January 1, 1992; and
WHEREAS, by mistake or inadvertence the City of
Paducah never drafted, presented, or adopted an ordinance
/moi amending Section 10-80.5 of Chapter 10, Civil Service, of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to
enact the above -referenced increases; and
WHEREAS, said retired members and widows of
retired members actually realized the increase in the amount
of their pensions, a minimum payment of $229.90 having been
established; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah desires to ratify and adopt the actions of the Board
of Trustees of the Appointive Employees' Pension Fund taken
on January 13, 1992, and the payments made pursuant thereto,
all as set forth above;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
PADUCAH:
SECTION 1. The Board of Commissioners of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, hereby ratify and adopt the action
taken by the Board of Trustees of the Appointive Employees'
Pension Fund on January 13, 1992, increasing monthly

SECTION 2. This ordinance will be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon publication of
