ORDINANCE NO. 93-9-.5'06(`
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF J-4 CONSTRUC-
TION, FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ITS REQUIREMENT OF GRAVEL TO
BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK FOR THE YEAR 1993-941
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah accepts the bid of
J-4 Construction for sale to the City of its requirement of
gravel meeting Kentucky Bureau of Highways Standard Specifi-
cations for Road and Bridge Construction, to be used in
street construction work for the year 1993-94, said bid
being in words and figures as follows:
"We propose to furnish, sell and deliver to the
City of Paducah (within the city limits) gravel as
ordered for the following prices per ton:
Unit Bid Price Approx.
Per Ton Quantity
$3.75 500 Tons
"We will start delivery within twenty-four hours
after receiving each order. This is a firm price
and will not be advanced during the fiscal year
1993-94. In the event of a reduction in our
market price, we agree to adjust the price ac-
cordingly.
T "Material delivered will be according to Kentucky
( 1! State Highway specifications for all crushed
limestone. Riprap will also meet Kentucky State
Highway specifications.
"If the contract is awarded to us, we agree to
post a performance bond in the amount of $1,000
within ten (10) days after being awarded the
contract. We also agree to conform with all other
requirements as set forth in the request for bids
on this material".
Said bid being in substantial compliance with, and as
contained in the bid of Wahl's Excavating, dated August 26,
1993.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to exe-
cute a contract with J-4 Construction for the purchase of
gravel as set out in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3. The purchase price for said gravel
shall be charged to Account No.
SECTION 4. In order to obtain this material
before the onset of inclement weather, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become
effective with one reading.
