ORDINANCE NO. 93-8-4998
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF JIM SMITH
CONTRACTING CO., INC. FOR RESURFACING VARIOUS STREETS IN THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah accepts the bid of
Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc. for resurfacing various streets
during 1993-94 fiscal year in the City of Paducah for the
following prices:

2. Bituminous Pavement &
Milling Texture 3,000 Tons $ 16.50 $ 49,500.00

(DGA) 500 Tons $ 12.50 $ 6,250.00
4. Shoulder
Construction (DGA) 500 Tons $ 15.00 $ 7,500.00
5. Manhole Adjustment 5 Each $500.00 $ 2,500.00
6. Asphalt Overlay
Geotextile Fabric 20,000 SQ YD $ 1.50 $ 30,000.00
TOTAL BID $315,750.00
Said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifi-
cations and advertisement for bids, and as contained in the bid
of Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., dated August 17, 1993
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute
a contract with Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., for the
service authorized in Section 1 above, according to the specifi-
cations, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore
approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., will
furnish to the City, within ten (10) days after execution of
said contract, a performance bond in an amount equal to one
hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.
SECTION 4. The purchase price for said services
shall be charged to the MAP Account No. 03-22-14-464.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon summary
publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
