AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION.4-4.5, "FOWL'.', OF CHAPTER 4,
ANIMALS AND FOWL, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, there has been a -problem developing in the City
dealing with chickens and fowl being kept in residential neighborhoods;
and
WHEREAS,.the Board of Commissioners feels that public health
is endangered by maintaining chickens and fowl in residential
neighborhoods -
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.. That Section. -4-4.5, "Fowl" of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, shall be created to read
as follows:
"It shall be unlawful for any person .to keep or maintain any
chickens, turkeys, domestic ducks, or other domes -tic fowl,
l within the City unless such fowl be kept within -an enclosure.
Such fowl shall not be within 300 feet of any dwelling house,
except the dwelling house of the owner of such fowl. All
pens, and enclosures, permitted to be kept in the City shall
be kept clean and in a sanitary condition and shall be open
to inspection by the City, County, or State Officials. Any
person violating this section shall be fined not less than
Ten ($10.00) nor more than Two Hundred Fifty ($250.00)
Dollars for each offense."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days
and will become effective upon publication in full.
