HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-7-3036119 ORDINANCE NO. 87-7-3036 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE BOARD, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY WHEREAS, on July 30, 1986, the Board of Commissioners created a Paducah -McCracken County Emergency Communications Service Board; and WHEREAS,.it.is the desire of the City and County to reconstitute the Paducah -McCracken County Emergency Communications Service Board so that it can be. comprised of representatives of the departments and offices which are served by said Board. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF,PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 2-410, Created; number and appointment of members, is hereby amended .and reordalned t.o read as follows: - :-I "There is hereby`createdia joint city -county board to be styled 'Paducah -McCracken County Emergency Communications Service Board', which shall be made up of -six -44 seven (7) members. ;-thrree i s��j•eek-�e-��e-sgg�e�s�-e�-the-bee��=e€-eemffi�ss�eae�s;-e��-.��i�ee-{�}-e� w��e�-slts��-�e-e�pe�a�e�-hy-��e-P4e6�sekee-Set�a��-�t��ge-e�eet����ae; stz�ee-e-e-eppee�-e-e-seed-�et�-a€-P4eSeekex-6eee- The board shall consist of the chief of police of the City of Paducah, the chief of the fire department of the City of Paducah, the sheriff of McCracken County, all of whom shall serve during their tenure in office. The board shall also consist of a chief of one of the fire districts in McCracken County, who shall be appointed by the county judge/executive for a term of three (3) years, one county commissioner, who shall be appointed by the county judge/executive for his term in office, one city commissioner, who shall be appointed by the mayor, for his term in office, and one non-governmental representative, who shall be appointed jointly by the mayor and county judge/executive for a period of three (3) years. Members of the board shall be eligible for reappointment." SECTION 2. That Section 2-411, Terms and reappointment, is hereby repealed in its entirety. 120 SECTION 3. That Section 2-420, Fees for service, is hereby created to read as follows: "(a) Collection. The South Central Bell Telephone Company, and any other telephone company -providing service to subscribers in the City of Paducah, shall collect for.each telephone line within the city the sum of fifty cents ($0.50) per month. (b) Remittance to city treasurer; use of fees. The telephone company shall turn said sums over to the city treasurer within thirty (30) days after the end of each month, who -shall put said sums into a special account which shall be used only for the purchase of equipment for.the enhanced 911 emergency telephone system and/or operating expenses of said system. The monies so deposited shall not be used for any other purpose. "(c) When effective. The fifty cents ($0.50) per month per line fee shall be effective upon McCracken County passing a like fee for telephone,;lines located --within McCracken. County and outside of the City of Paducah." -..SECTION 4. That Section 2-395 through Section 2-399 are hereby repealed., n, their entirety. _- —SECTION 5. This ordinance. -shall -be read on two separate days and will become effective upon publication of title and a certified—' summary thereof.
