Home My WebLink About95-1-52460 01 ORDINANCE NO. 95-1-5 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF H & G CONSTRUCTION COMPANY INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,390,885.01 FOR ROADWAY AND WATER LINE CONSTRUCTION FOR RELOCATION OF KENTUCKY AVENUE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of H & G Construction Company Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,390,885.01 for roadway and water line construction for the relocation of Kentucky Avenue, said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications and advertisement for bids, and as contained in the bids of H & G Construction Company Inc. of September 23, 1994. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with H & G Construction Company Inc. for roadway and water line construction for relocation of Kentucky Avenue, as set out in Section 1 above, according to the specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid. SECTION 3. The City of Paducah shall pay the amount of $949,690. The account number for this expenditure shall be determined by the City Manager. The amount of $441,195 shall be paid by Western Baptist Hospital and/or the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and shall be verified in writing to the City of Paducah prior to the adoption of this ordinance. Any unanticipated costs in excess of the amount of this contract shall be the responsibility of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and/or Western Baptist Hospital. SECTION 4. In order to comply with the State deadline of January 31, 1995, for expenditure of State committed funds for this project, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become effective immediately with one reading.
