AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WAHL'S LANDSCAPE
CONTRACTOR IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 FOR WEED AND
GRASS CUTTING AND REMOVAL OF DEBRIS DURING FISCAL YEAR 1995/96,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Ordinance No.
95-8-5328 approving a contract with JJ & Sons for weed and
grass cutting and removal of debris during Fiscal Year 1995/96;
and
WHEREAS, difficulties have arisen preventing the
execution of a contract with JJ & Sons; and
WHEREAS, an emergency still exists for these
services; and
WHEREAS, the second low bidder has not withdrawn his
bid and remains willing to perform under the same terms and
specifications as previously advertised.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid
of Wahl's Landscape Contractor in an amount not to exceed
$25,000 for weed and grass cutting and removal of debris during
the Fiscal Year 1995/96, said bid being in substantial
compliance with the bid specifications and advertisement for
bids, and as contained in the bid of JJ and Sons of July 14,
1995.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with Wahl's Landscape Contractor for
services as set out in Section 1 above, according to the
specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents
heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to
Account No. 803-516-23-10.
SECTION 4. Ordinance No. 95-8-5328, adopted on
August 8, 1995, rewarding a contract to JJ & Sons for the above
services, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 5. In order to allow the City to continue
with timely weed and grass cutting and removal of debris, trash
and litter, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance will become effective immediately with one reading.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be published
pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
