HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-11-5219M• ORDINANCE NO. 94-11-5219 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY FOR 1 THE BENEFIT OF PADUCAH WATER WORKS ( y WHEREAS, Municipal Order No. 695 was adopted by the Board of �� Commissioners on October 11, 1994, approving the Resolution of -the Commissioners of Waterworks of the City of Paducah declaring property located at 1850 Lone Oak Road, the corner of Lutes Road and Highland Church. Road, and on the I-24 Downtown Loop near the intersection with Harrison Street no longer suitable or necessary to the operation of the Water Works; and WHEREAS, Resolution of the Commissioners of Waterworks dated October 26, 1994, recommended the City of Paducah accept the offer of Mr. Robert Alexander dated October 17, 1994, to purchase surplus property at 1850 Lone Oak Road for the sum of Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.); and 0 WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Waterworks have declared the proceeds from the sale of this property are needed to continue the efficient operation of the Water Works, and it would be in the best public interest to sell same; and WHEREAS, said property is presently owned by the City of Paducah, Kentucky on behalf of Paducah Water Works. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby accepts the offer of Robert Alexander dated October 17, 1994, to purchase for the sum of Twenty- five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.) the real property more particularly described as follows: Tract A: A portion of Lot 42 of the Phillips Park Subdivision, fronting fifty-one and ninety-nine one hundredths (51.99) feet on Lone Oak Road, extending southeastwardly one hundred forty-six and fifty-three hundredths (146.53) feet to an unnamed alley, extending northwardly fifty-one and thirty-eight hundredths (51.38) feet along the unnamed alley, and extending northwestwardly one hundred nineteen and 67 sixty-one hundredths (119.61) feet to the place of beginning. Tract A contains six thousand six hundred thirty-nine (6,639) square feet and was conveyed to the City of Paducah for the use and benefit of Paducah Water Works by deed dated June 30, 1988, of record in Deed Book 715, page 594, in the office of the Clerk of the County Court of McCracken County, Kentucky. Tract B: A portion of Lot 42 of the Phillips Park Subdivision, fronting fifty-one and thirty-eight hundredths (51.38) feet on an unnamed alley, sou:theastwardly sixty end eight -eight hundredths (60.88), extending eastwardly twenty-four and seventy-six hundredths (24.76) feet, extending northwardly f.if-ty-three and fifty hundredths (53.50) feet, and extending northwestwardl.y twenty-eight and sixty-five hundredths (28.65) feet to the place of beginning. Tract B contains two thousand eight hundred forty-nine (2,849) square feet and was conveyed to the City of Paducah for the use and benefit of Paducah Water Works by deed dated June 30, 1988, of record in Deed Book 715, page 594, in the office of the Clerk of the County Court of McCracken County, Kentucky. SECTION 2. The City of Paducah hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor to execute and the Corporation Counsel to approve all deeds and any other documents necessary to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance and further authorizes the proceeds from this sale to be deposited in the Depreciation Account of Paducah Water Works. Section 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate dates and become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
