ORDINANCE NO. 96-2-:54-63
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10-49,10-51,10-52,10-55,10-58,
10-59,10-61,10-62,10-63,10-64 CIVIL. SERVICE, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 10-49, Civil Service, of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 10-49. Department of Finance.
This department shall be under the direction and supervision of the City Treasurer
- Finance Director, a noncivil service position which has heretofore been created by separate
ordinance.
(a) There is hereby created and authorized the following positions in the
Department of Finance, and the salary of each position that shall be paid upon satisfactory
completion of consecutive years of service, in this position, and upon recommendation of the City
Manager:

(b) The chief of the maintenance division may designate one maintenance
specialist in his department to act as lead man or part-time working foreman to serve in such
capacity at the direction of the chief of the maintenance division. The maintenance specialist so
designated shall be paid an additional $1.00 per hour during such times as the maintenance
specialist designated actually serves in such capacity.
SECTION 4. That Section 10-55, Civil Service of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 10-55. Department Environmental and Engineering Services.
(a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the
Department of Environmental and Engineering Services, and the salary of each position that shall
be paid upon satisfactory completion of consecutive years of service, in this position, and upon
recommendation of the City Manager:

SECTION 10. That Section 10-64, Civil Service of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 10-64. Community Development/ Housing and Grants Management.
(a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the
Community Development/Housing and Grants Management of the City of Paducah, Kentucky
and the salary of each position that shall be paid upon satisfactory completion of consecutive
years of service, in this position, and upon recommendation of the City Manager:

SECTION 11. Any department director, upon approval of the City Manager, may
designate an employee of their respective department to serve as Lead Person. The Lead Person
shall be paid an additional $.50 per hour during such time that the person serves in such capacity.
SECTION 12. This ordinance shall be retroactive to July 1, 1995.
SECTION 13. The salary increases retroactive to July 1, 1995, are being
implemented for employees who were full-time employees prior to July 1, 1995, who are not
currently represented by any bargaining unit and whose current salary level is $35,000 or less per
year.
SECTION 14. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and shall
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
