AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-47, NONCIVIL SERVICE
GENERALLY OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That sub -section (a) of Section 2-47, Noncivil Service Employees,
01 Generally, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended and
to read as follows:
"Section 2-47. Noncivil service employees generally.
(a) There is hereby created and authorized the following positions in the
Department of Community Development/Housing and Grants Management. The monthly or
hourly rate of compensation of the following non civil service employees of the City of Paducah
shall be the amount set opposite the designation of such employment, upon satisfactory
completion of consecutive years of service in this position, and upon recommendation of the City
Manager:

Inspector Trainee for a period not to exceed two years. The Deputy Building and Deputy
Electrical Inspector Trainee shall be promoted to the Civil Service position of Deputy Building
and Deputy Electrical Inspector upon receiving necessary State certifications for the position of
Deputy Building or Deputy Electrical Inspector.

SECTION 2. Any department director, upon approval of the City Manager, may
designate an employee of their respective department to serve as Lead Person. The Lead Person
shall be paid an additional $.50 per hour during such time that the person serves in such capacity.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be retroactive to July 1, 1995.
SECTION 4. The salary increases retroactive to July 1, 1995, are being
implemented for employees who were full-time employees prior to July 1, 1995, who are not
currently represented by any bargaining unit and whose current salary level is $35,000 or less per
year.

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
