AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE CHANGE
ORDER NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,780.30 AND CHANGE ORDER NO. 2
IN THE AMOUNT OF $94,000, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $6,000,
NOT TO EXCEED $100,000, WITH WILKINS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY INC.,
FOR THE MORGAN-CORNELL DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - PHASE I,
AND GRANTING A 65 -DAY EXTENSION OF TIME ON SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 95-11-5412, the City
approved a contract in the amount of $286,816.71 with Wilkins
Construction Company Inc. for the Morgan -Cornell Drainage
Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of
$2,790.30 is required for adjustments in drainage structures,
which will decrease the original contract amount to
$284,036.41, and will require a 20 -day extension of time; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $94,000,
plus an additional amount of $6,000, not to exceed a total of
$100,000, which will increase the contract amount to
$378,036,41, and not to exceed the amount of $384,036.41, is
required to continue drainage improvement across South 28th
Street, and will require an additional 45 -day extension of
time; and
WHEREAS, these two Change Orders will increase the
original contract amount to $378,036.41, not to exceed the
amount of $384,036.41, and grant a total 65 -day extension of
time to said contract.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and
directed to execute the following Change Orders with Wilkins
Construction Company Inc. for the Morgan -Cornell Drainage
Improvement Project:
Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $2,790.30 is
required for adjustments in drainage structures,
which will decrease the original contract amount to
$284,036.41, and will require a 20 -day extension of
time.
Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $94,000, plus an
additional amount of $6,000, not to exceed a total of
$100,000, which will increase the contract amount to
$378,036.41, and not to exceed the amount of
$384,036.41, is required to continue drainage improve-
ment across South 28th Street, and will require an
additional 45 -day extension of time.
SECTION 2. The aforesaid Change Orders will increase
the original contract price to $378,036.41, not to exceed
$384,036.41, and grant a total 65 -day extension of time to said
contract.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to
Account No. 040-3305-532-2307 (DR0001).

SECTION 5. In order to complete this project before
the beginning of the August, 1996, school year, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become
effective immediately with one reading.
