Board Members Present: Commissioners Latoya Burton, Jana Dawson (Chair),
Charles Gurley, Irhonda Lovelace, Anthony Walton, and Kimberly Yates

Meeting called to order by Chair Commissioner Dawson at 4:45 p.m.
Roll Call by Daisha Johnson, Human Relations Coordinator at 4:46 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance — Did not do
Visitors —Mayor George Bray —Discussed the purpose of the PHRC and what the future looks
like for outreach and education.
Paducah Pride Event (Commissioner Lovelace)—Paducah Pride Event is June 6, 2026, at
Paducah Convention Center. Commissioners Lovelace, Gurley, and Robinson committed to
volunteering at the PHRC table during this event.
Community Day at Carson Park—Commissioner Burton confirmed this event is set for
October 9, 2026, and hosted by the Housing Authority of Paducah. Commissioner Burton
will provide more details as the event approaches.
Lunch & Learn — Board Members voted on Saturday, July 25, 2026, as the date for the next
Lunch & Learn Outreach event. The event will be held at the Christ Temple Annex from 11:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Food will be provided by Big Ed's.
Marketing materials — Commissioner Yates agreed to reach out to Action Sports and get an
updated quote for marketing materials. She stated that she would provide the quote this
week so that the PHRC can submit an invoice for new items.
Juneteenth Event - Chair (Commissioner Dawson) — 6/4/26 Commissioner Dawson
confirmed that the application to participate in this event has been submitted.
Budget Report — The PHRC has a budget of $7,210.39 until June 30, 2026.
6/4/26 Commissioners discussed getting pamphlets printed before June 30, 2026. PHRC
voted on 5/14 to use the group photo taken at the March Lunch & Learn event for their
new informational pamphlet. Commissioner Burton is responsible for providing the layout
for the new pamphlet.
Daisha Johnson, Human Relations Coordinator, reported that two complaints were filed.
Meeting was adjourned at 5:55 p.m. with Motion to approve by Commissioner Lovelace, a
second approval by Commissioner Gurley and unanimously approved.
