I. MEETING DETAILS
The Civic Beautification Board members met on Monday, March 10th , 2025, at 12:00pm.
The meetingwas held at City Hall, 300 S. 51h St, Paducah, KY42003.
II. ATTENDEES
In attendance were Staci Drake (Co -Chairman), Mary Dossett (Secretary), Ronna Ward
(Treasurer), Jilt Durham (HOM), Karen Patter (New Member), Fowler Black (Tourism), Tim
Story, Misty Freeman, Mark Anderson, Colleen Stovesand, Leslie Haywood -Moore, Kay
Cochran, Kathy McHaney, Paul Grumley, Michele Murphy, Denny Roof, and Pam
Spencer (City Rep). Board members not in attendance were Kathy Montgomery
(Chairman), Wayne Armbruster and Storm Wilson.
III. CALLTOORDER
Staci called the meeting to order at 12:00pm at City Hall with the pledge of allegiance
and reminded members to silence their phones.
The February minutes were presented and approved.
Treasurer: Ronna reported our balance is currently $5,904.18.
Secretary: No updates. Minutes were sent via email to members.
Corresponding Secretary: Staci mentioned we need a new corresponding secretary due
to Lucia leaving the board.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
Membership -Nominating:
Staci made an announcement that we have a new member present. Karen introduced
our new member, Kathy McHaney. Sheworks at WKCTC.
House of the Month:
Jill presented the winners of home of the month. The owners are Chris and Randy Janne.
The house is located at 3223 Buckner Lane. A photo of the home was passed around.
Business Award:
Staci explained to the new member what the business awards are. Several members
mentioned examples of businesses that have updated their buildings recently.
Tim mentioned that the temperatures are finallywarmingup and so we can start to
think about setting a date for the dogwood trail. He explained that is coordinated
around their bloom time. It was noted to shoot for the week of March 30th. Discussion
on judging dates and when to place signs. It was decided that the trail will begin on
3/30, the dogwood tree judgingwill be 3/31, and the kickoff celebration will be 4/01.
Children's Memorial Garden:
No report
Social Media:
Misty reported we have 46 new followers and over 13,000 new views since last month
on our Facebook page. She updated the members on the success of our recent posts
as well. The hashtags are ready for the Dogwood Trail. A QR code will be added to the
rack cards to make it easier for people to get the information. Now people can also
follow the trail with Google Maps. WPSD is goingto do a segment on the Dogwood Trail.
Nolan Cain is doing a "dogwood watch" on the news for the board. Zebra Graphics is
doing the artwork for the rack cards. Misty showed the members two examples for the
rack cards. She will send a text of the two images and have the members vote on the
rack cards. After the rack card is decided on, every member will get about five rack
cards to help disperse.
Paducah Alliance of Neighborhoods (PAN):
Tim offered to supply solar lights for the house by Oscar Cross Blvd.
W l ome to Paducah Signs:
Denny recommended to plant around the signs in the fall. We are waiting on an
estimate from the painter. Karen offered to help Denny plant in the fall.
Trail Mapping: The current committee is Fowler Black (captain), Leslie
Haywood -Moore, and Denny Roof. A rough draft of the map was passed around.
They are hoping to finalize the map this week.
Publicity: The current committee is Misty Freeman (captain), Denny Roof, and
Michele Murphy. Misty is working on rack cards and advertising on Facebook and
WPSD.
• Trolly Ride: The current committee is Colleen Stovesand (captain), Leslie
Haywood -Moore, and Tim Story. The trolleywill have Kim Blaisdel and Roy
Henzel, Ambassadors, on board the trolley to give a guided tour of the trail.
Colleen said she has been in contact and working with PATS. The ambassadors:
Kim Blaisel, Roy Henzel, and Ro Morse will drive the trail to make a recording of
the history and points of interests to be included in the QR Code on the Map. .
• Judging: The current committee is Kathy Montgomery (captain), Staci Drake,
Mary Dossett, Jitt Durham, and Misty Freeman. It was decided that the judging
take place on Monday night.
• Awards Signs: The current committee is Paul Grumley (captain), Colleen
Stovesand, Karen Patter, Wayne Armbruster, Mark Anderson, and Tim Story. Pam
asked about direction signs and where they were located. Denny mentioned
where he last saw them and who she needs to contact. More signs will be ready
Thursday. Mark mentioned there is a total of 19 metal signs and 12 posts.
• Photography : The current committee is Paul Grumley (captain), Fowler Black,
and Wayne Armbruster. No report as of yet.
• Reception : The current committee is Ronna Ward (captain) and Staci Drake.
Ronna will check on gettingt-shirts. A size signup sheet was passed around. It
was decided that the kickoff will be on Tuesday afternoon. Ronna passed around
a signup sheet forjob duties for the kickoff.
• Presentation of Awards : The current committee is Staci Drake (captain), Leslie
Haywood -Moore, and All Durham.
Citizen of the Month:
The citizen of the month for March will be Jim Gatlin (McGangsters).

V. NEW BUSINESS
Open Discussion:
The members voted to make Ro Morse a honorary member of Civic Beautification
Board.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
Move to adjourn was made by Staci at 12:59pm. Next meeting will be April 14`h , 2025 at
City Hall.
