ORDINANCE NO. 97-9-5725
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND DEFINING
cl� ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE
SAID CORPORATE LIMITS
WHEREAS, a tract of property adjacent to the present city limits, located west of
the Olivet Church Road, south of the Paducah and Illinois Railroad, and north of the Illinois
Central Railroad, McCracken County, Kentucky, is urban in character and suitable for
development for urban purposes without unreasonable delay; and
WHEREAS, the property is continuous to the present corporate limits of the City,
and it is desirable and necessary to annex the hereinafter described property; and
City.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is not within the boundary of another incorporated
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to annex the
hereinafter described property, and therefore that the hereinafter described property be annexed
to, and be made a part of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, said real property being more
particularly and accurately described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the East right of
way line of Olivet Church Road and the North right of way
line of the Illinois Central Railroad; thence, crossing Olivet
Church Road along the said North railroad right of way
line, South 78 degrees 27 minutes 50 seconds West a
distance of 46.35 feet to a 4" square concrete monument set
at the intersection of the West right of way line of the
Olivet Church Road and the North right of way line of the
Illinois Central Railroad, said monument being 20 feet at
right angles from the center of pavement of the Olivet
Church Road; thence, with the said North right of way
line of the Illinois Central Railroad, South 78 degrees 27
minutes 50 seconds West a distance of 1328.06 feet to an
existing iron pin; thence, continuing with the said railroad
right of way line, South 78 degrees 27 minutes 50 seconds
West, a distance of 1806.58 feet to an iron pin; thence,
continuing with the said railroad right of way line, South
78 degrees 27 minutes 50 seconds West, a distance of 552.44
feet to a concrete monument; thence, continuing with the
said railroad right of way line, South 78 degrees 27 minutes
50 seconds West, a distance of 1359.80 feet to an existing
iron pipe; thence, leaving the railroad right of way and
with a line common to properties currently owned by
Litchfield and Carter, North 4 degrees 46 minutes 24
seconds East, a distance of 515.92 feet to an existing iron
pin;' thence, with a line common to the Vancil property,
North 5 degrees 22 minutes 06 seconds East, a distance of
619.91 feet to an existing steel "t" post; thence, continuing

with a line common to Vancil, North 5 degrees 22 minutes 41
seconds East, a distance of 826.88 feet to an existing iron
pin; thence, North 21 degrees 49 minutes 41 seconds East,
a distance of 528.74 feet to a concrete monument set in the
South right of way line of the Old Cairo Road (Kentucky
Highway 305) ; thence, with the said South right of way
line, 185.93 feet along an arc to the left to an iron pin,
said arc having a radius of 1462.39 feet, the chord of
which is North 61 degrees 32 minutes 53 seconds East,
185.80 feet; thence, continuing with the said South right of
way line of the Old Cairo Road, North 57 degrees 54
minutes 20 seconds East, a distance of 148.38 feet to an
iron pin; thence, South 36 degrees 21 minutes 06 seconds
East, a distance of 1138.84 feet to an iron pin; thence,
South 83 degrees 44 minutes 14 seconds East, a distance of
101.44 feet to an existing iron pin; thence, North 0 degrees
52 minutes 17 seconds East, a distance of 491.68 feet to an
existing 1" iron pipe in the South right of way line of
Timberbrook Lane; thence, with the South line of
Timberbrook, South 76 degrees 59 minutes 59 seconds East,
a distance of 50.05 feet to an existing 1" iron pipe; thence,
South 76 degrees 34 minutes 44 seconds East, a distance of
290.08 feet to an existing 1" iron pipe; thence, South 76
degrees 24 minutes 22 seconds East, a distance of 149.96
feet to an existing stone; thence, South 1 degrees 44
minutes 59 seconds West, a distance of 496.67 feet to an
iron pin; thence, South 77 degrees 14 minutes 05 seconds
East, a distance of 306.14 feet to an iron pin; thence,
South 77 degrees 14 minutes 05 seconds East, a distance of
420.79 feet to an iron pin; thence, North 18 degrees 29
minutes 29 seconds East, a distance of 277.63 feet to an
existing iron pin; thence, North 18 degrees 33 minutes 27
seconds East, a distance of 202.95 feet to an existing 1"
iron pipe; thence, North 18 degrees 31 minutes 36 seconds
East, a distance of 125.06 feet to an existing 1" iron pipe;
thence, North 18 degrees 30 minutes 19 seconds East, a
distance of 124.66 feet to an existing iron pin; thence,
North 18 degrees 34 minutes 36 seconds East, a distance of
249.44 feet to an existing 1" iron pipe in the East right of
way line of Orchard View Drive; thence, with the said East
right of way line, North 18 degrees 07 minutes 49 seconds
East, a distance of 50.23 feet to an existing iron pin;
thence, North 18 degrees 26 minutes 16 seconds East, a
distance of 353.64 feet to an existing 1" iron pipe in the
South right of way line of the Paducah and Illinois
Railroad; thence, with the said railroad right of way line,
South 76 degrees 40 minutes 40 seconds East, a distance of
829.1 feet more or less to a point; thence, crossing the
said Paducah and Illinois Railroad, North 18 degrees 37
minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 200.9 feet more or
less to a point in the existing City of Paducah City limits in V�
the North right of way line of the Paducah and Illinois
Railroad; thence, with the existing City of Paducah City
limits line, South 76 degrees 40 minutes 40 seconds East a
distance of 1560.6 feet more or less to a point in the East
right of way line of the Olivet Church Road; thence, with
the said East right of way line of the Olivet Church Road;
South 18 degrees 48 minutes 45 seconds West a distance of
1413.9 feet more or less back to the point of beginning and
containing 201.84 acres more or less.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
