Minutes Monthly Board Meeting Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 8:00am Present Board Members- David Troutman, Cindy Mangrum, John Durbin, Maggie Moore, Karami Underwood, Simone Fearon, Herb Gregory, Dan Frazier, Jackie Caruthers, Robert Hernandez. Staff Present- Robin Ross, Assistant Director. Absent Board Members- Lydia May, Carol Young. Absent Staff Member- Sarah Walker, Executive Director Call to Order: David Troutman called the meeting to order at 8:06 am. Minutes from the Last Months: Robert Hernandez made a motion to approve the October minutes. Karami Underwood second. The motion passed. Cindy Mangrum made a motion to approve the November minutes. John Durbin second. The motion passed. Committee Reports: Finance Committee: John Durbin was unable to present any financial reports as this meeting was scheduled earlier than normal. We will have to review December and January. Nominating Committee: We’re going to have two board vacancies as well as two executive board vacancies. Please keep your ears open for anyone who would be a good fit. (Ideally someone with fundraising experience and/or a laptop) Personnel Committee: David reviewed the personnel issue that arose with a former employee. All has been handled appropriately. Bylaws and Policies Committee: New policies need to be updated on the portal. Director’s Report: See attachment from Sarah Walker. Sarah was unable to attend the meeting due to illness. Assistant Director’s Report: Robin gave an update on the various items and christmas gifts that’ll be going to the seniors this holiday season. The seniors are also going on two trips. Thank you, Robin! Old Business Building Update: John Canter has finally submitted building plans to the city for review. There has been an updated schedule given as well. We have been given an extension on our grant funding as well. Fundraising/ Grants: It would be strategic of the board to bring on two new board members with fundraising experience and a strong affinity for senior citizens. New Business None at this time. The next board meeting date is January 28, 2025 at 8:00am.
