Minutes Monthly Board Meeting Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 8:00am Present Board Members- David Troutman, Cindy Mangrum, John Durbin, Maggie Moore, Karami Underwood, Simone Fearon, Herb Gregory, Carol Young, Dan Frazier, Jackie Caruthers, Robert Hernandez. Staff Present- Sarah Walker, Executive Director, Robin Ross, Assistant Director. Absent Board Members- Lydia May. Call to Order: David Troutman called the meeting to order at 8:08 am. Minutes from Last Month: Carol Young made a motion to approve the August minutes. Herb Gregory second. The motion passed. Committee Reports: Finance Committee: John Durbin presented financial reports to the board. See John’s attached reports. We’ve encountered a PADD Reimbursement issue. The PADD office realized they had been making a mistake when reimbursing The Senior Center for meals. They’ve been overpaying us for almost a year. They now want their money back. An agreement has been reached to get them their extra money back. Robin is aware of what to look for now to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Thank you for your work, Robin. Nominating Committee: The board is full at this point. No new members needed. Personnel Committee: Sarah has lost an employee who works the Made to Stay program and is working to replace her. Bylaws and Policies Committee: David and Robert are going to make sure that Herb is sent a copy of the Bylaws and Policies handbook. Director’s Report: See attachment presented by Sarah Walker. Assistant Director’s Report: No report this month. Old Business Building Update: The city wanted an update on the building plans. Jeff Canter claims that they’re 85% done. The city plans to approve the plan when Jeff can present it. Jeff gave himself some deadlines to hit for accountability. New Business No new business this month. Comments and Announcements None at this time. Adjournment Karami Underwood made a motion to adjourn at 9:00 am, Cindy Mangrum second. The motion passed. The next board meeting date is October 22, 2024 at 8:00am.
