Minutes Monthly Board Meeting Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 8:00am
Present Board Members- David Troutman, John Durbin, Karami Underwood, Simone Fearon, Herb Gregory, Jackie Caruthers, Carol Young.
Staff Present- Sarah Walker, Director; Robin Ross, Assistant Director.
Absent Board Members- Cindy Mangrum, Maggie Moore, Dan Frazier, Robert Hernandez, Lydia May,.
Absent Staff Member- None
Call to Order: David Troutman called the meeting to order at 8:05 am.
Minutes from the Last Months: Jackie Carruthers made a motion to approve the December minutes. Karami Underwood second. The motion passed.
Committee Reports:
Finance Committee: John Durbin presented financial reports for December.
Nominating Committee: We’re going to have two board vacancies as well as two executive board vacancies.
Personnel Committee: Murray State University’s Spring intern started last week and has already been a big help to the Center.
Bylaws and Policies Committee: New policies need to be updated on the portal.
Director’s Report: See attachment from Sarah Walker.
Assistant Director’s Report: None.
Old Business
Building Update: We have been informed that the City has approved the final building plan designs. We are now waiting for the bidding process.
Fundraising/ Grants: Discussed fundraising opportunities, including a concert. The United Way grant application will be submitted soon. We will ask for funding for Meals on Wheels
as well as E-Homes.
New Business
Discussed fundraising opportunities, including a concert. With the continued rise in food cost, it was discussed that the suggested donation for a meal increase from $3.00 to $4.00.
The donation amount has not increased in two (2) years. Karami Underwood made a motion to increase the suggested donation to $4.00. Dr. Fearon second. The motion passed.

Jackie Carruthers made a motion to adjourn at 8:45 am, John Durbin second. The motion passed.
The next board meeting date is February 25, 2025 at 8:00am.
