Minutes Monthly Board Meeting Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 8:00am Present Board Members- David Troutman, Cindy Mangrum, John Durbin, Maggie Moore, Karami Underwood, Simone Fearon, Lydia May, Herb Gregory, Dan Frazier, Jackie Caruthers, Robert Hernandez. Staff Present- Robin Ross, Assistant Director. Absent Board Members- Carol Young. Absent Staff Member- Sarah Walker, Executive Director, Robin Ross, Assistant Director. Call to Order: David Troutman called the meeting to order at 8:04 am. Minutes from the Last Months: Thank you Herb for keeping minutes for the January meeting. With discussed edits made, Robert Hernandez made a motion to approve the previous minutes. Cindy Mangrum second. The motion passed. Committee Reports: Finance Committee: John Durbin presented the financial report. Expenses were very high this month. Nominating Committee: We’re going to have two board vacancies as well as two executive board vacancies this summer. Please keep your ears open for anyone with fundraising experience to join the board. Maggie requested that Cindy and her be replaced by some specific individuals involved in either the barge industry or the nuclear industry. Personnel Committee: No report this month. Bylaws and Policies Committee: Robert Hernandez started a discussion about the removal of DEI policies. It’s already been removed from the RSVP grant and that grant has been resubmitted. Director’s Report: See attachment from Sarah Walker. Thank you for all you do in the community and for the seniors! Assistant Director’s Report: No report this month. Old Business Building Update: Meetings with the city are happening. Hopefully there will be some bids to review sooner rather than later. The building grant is still on hold. April 1st the board will need to meet at 8:00 am to discuss the bids. Fundraising/ Grants: the board discussed future fundraising endeavors. Sarah is reaching out to Lifeline to pick their brain about their past fundraising efforts. New Business None at this time. Comments and Announcements Robert suggested a round of applause for all the work Sarah, Robin, and all the staff are doing. Thank you! Adjournment Robert Hernandez made a motion to adjourn at 9:01 am, Jackie Caruthers second. The motion passed. The next board meeting date is March 25, 2025 at 8:00am.
