Minutes Monthly Board Meeting Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 8:00am
Present Board Members- David Troutman, Cindy Mangrum, Maggie Moore, Lydia May, Herb Gregory, Dan Frazier, Robert Hernandez, Karami Underwood, Carol Young.
Staff Present- Sarah Walker, Executive Director, Robin Ross, Assistant Director.
Absent Board Members- Simone Fearon, Jackie Caruthers.
Call to Order: David Troutman called the meeting to order at 8:05 am.
Minutes from the Last Months: Robert Hernandez made a motion to approve the May minutes. Herb Gregory second. The motion passed.
Committee Reports:
Finance Committee: New fiscal year begins July 1st. No finance report this month. The accountants will be back next month to report to the board.
Nominating Committee: We have 3 vacancies to fill. The board had a conversation about who needs to step into the executive board vacancies. David recommended Robert Hernandez and Herb
Gregory for the position of Vice-Chair. Robert Hernandez made a motion to close nominations for Vice-Chair. Karami Underwood Cindy Made a motion to appoint Herb Gregory as Vice-Chair
of the board. Robert second. The motion passed. Lydia May volunteered to be secretary. Cindy made a motion to appoint Lydia May as secretary. Robert second. The motion carried. Cindy
Mangrum shared what’s expected as the chair of the Personnel Committee. Robert would like to take on the Personnel Committee and will speak with Cindy about it further. Herb Gregory
nominated Robert to be the chair of the Personnel Committee. Carol second. The motion passed.
Maggie has been trying to connect with multiple options for her replacement with no success.
The Current Personnel Committee Members: Carol, Karami, Robert, David
Personnel Committee: Everything is peaceful right now. Nothing to report.
Bylaws and Policies Committee: No report.
Director’s Report: See Sarah’s Report.
Assistant Director’s Report: No report this month.
Old Business
Building Update: Closing has been delayed due to a dispute about a portion of land in the title search process. The land surveyor is checking on it this week. We’re now hoping for July
15th as a closing.
Fundraising/ Grants: Efforts are ongoing. Sarah is working on establishing a total goal for the capital campaign.
New Business
None at this time.

Cindy Mangrum made a motion to adjourn at 8:58 am, Maggie Moore second. The motion passed.
