CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING
MINUTES
APRIL 24, 2025
The Code Enforcement Board Meeting was held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in
City Hall. In attendance were Matt Turley, John Spurlin, Jewel Jones, Kristen Krueger, David
Jones, Steve Utz, Greg Cherry and Janet Dicke.
Absent: Tara Sawvel
The meeting was called to Order by Jewel Jones and seconded by John Spurlin. Motion carried.
The minutes for February 17, 2025 were read and approved. Motion made by Jewel Jones and
seconded by John Spurlin. Motion carried.
Properties Discussed:
1. 821 Tennessee Street and 720 S. 9th Street – Aron Duca - postponed until June’s meeting.
Motion made by Jewel Jones and seconded by John Spurlin. Motion carried.
2. 1249 S. 7th St. – Jeff Haley
Property owner appeared to speak.
Push this out until the June’s Board meeting to get an inspection to determine if there are
violations. John Spurlin made the motion and seconded by Matt Turley. Motion carried. It
was suggested to Mr. Haley if he wanted he could come before the Building and Electrical
Appeals Board before the June’s Code Enforcement Board meeting if he disputed matters
within that board’s jurisdiction.
Comments:
1. Updates on Chapter 42
2. Interest Rate 4% to 8% per year.
3. Administrative Charge $30.00 to $50.00.
Jewel Jones made the motion to adjourn. John Spurlin seconded. Motion carried.
