ORDINANCE NO. 97-11- 6-7 71
ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY FINALIZING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID
PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE SAID CORPORATE LIMITS
WHEREAS, a tract of property adjacent to the present city limits, located
at 5181 U.S. Highway 60, is urban in character and suitable for development for urban
purposes without unreasonable delay; and
WHEREAS, the property is contiguous to the present corporate limits of
the City, and it is desirable and necessary to annex the hereinafter described property; and
WHEREAS, said tract of land is not within the boundary of another
incorporated city; and
WHEREAS, KRS 81 A.412 permits final annexation if prior written
consent is obtained from each owner of the land to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the owner has requested such annexation in writing to the
Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to finalize
the annexation of the hereinafter described property, and therefore that the hereinafter
described property be annexed to, and be made a part of the City of Paducah, Kentucky;
said real property being more particularly and accurately described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the north right of way line of Highway 60 West,
said point being the southeast corner of the original Thomas Whitmer
property, said point also being located 80.0 feet from and perpendicular to
U.S. Highway 60 West centerline station no. 346 + 11.02; thence N
23101'41"E and along the easterly line of the original Thomas Whitmer
property, 254.58 feet to a point; thence N 70°59'34"E, 149.31 feet to a
point; thence S 15°30'26"E, 213.85 feet to a point in the north right of
way line of U.S. Highway 60 West, which point is 56.0 feet from and
"n perpendicular to U.S. Highway 60 West centerline station no. 349 + 17.77;
•� thence S 73° 25'34" W and along the north right of way line of U.S.
Highway 60 West, 217.95 feet to a point which point is 65.0 feet from and
perpendicular to U.S. Highway 60 West centerline station no. 347 + 00;
thence S 80° 37'41" W and along the north right of way line of U.S.
Highway 60 West, 90.24 feet to the point of beginning.

Said tract contains 48,241 sq. ft., or 1.107 acres.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
