A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT TO RELEASE A REQUEST FOR
QUALIFICATIONS FOR DESIGN, ENGINEERING, AND CONSTRUCTION
ADMINISTRATION FOR THE GREENWAY TRAIL SOUTHSIDE
EXPANSION (GWT PHASE 7)
WHEREAS, in June, 2023, the City of Paducah accepted a National Park Service
Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program Technical Assistance Grant to further the
expansion of the Paducah Greenway Trial; and
WHEREAS, in September 2023 the Paducah Greenway Trail and Recreation
Project held its first meeting, and with assistance from National Park Service personnel, the
GWT Phase 7 Steering Committee hosted four focus group meetings, four public meetings,
published two surveys and attended two public events to collect public input for the proposed
expansion; and
WHEREAS, after receiving input from individuals and survey responses, the City
is ready to proceed to the next phase of the project — which is design and engineering.
KENTUCKY:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
SECTION 1. The Engineering Department is hereby authorized and directed to
issue a Request for Qualifications for Design, Engineering and Construction Administration for
the Greenway Trail Southside Expansion (GWT Phase 7).
SECTION 2. Funding for this project shall be paid from Greenway Trail,
Account PA0111.
SECTION 3.
