New Maintenance Building for Parks and Recreation Department
The Paducah Board of Commissioners approved a municipal order authorizing the City Manager to release a request for
proposals for design and construction administrative services for a new Parks and Recreation Department maintenance
building. rive. In 2024, the
Parks and Recreation Department moved its administrative function to the back of the renovated Robert Cherry Civic Center
and the recreation team to the Paducah Recreation Center. The plan is for a new maintenance building to be constructed to
house the 18-member maintenance team and equipment. This building could potentially be located in Noble Park.
Robert Coleman Park Restroom Facility
The Paducah Board of Commissioners approved a municipal order authorizing the City Manager to release a request for
proposals for the construction of a new restroom facility at Robert Coleman Park which would replace the existing structure.
The goal is to have a new restroom facility in place by the end of the year.
School Resource Officer Agreement with Paducah Public Schools
The Paducah Board of Commissioners approved a municipal order authorizing the school resource officer agreement with
Paducah Public Schools. In 2021, the Paducah Police Department and Paducah Public Schools entered into a partnership for
school resource officers. That agreement was funded partially by a COPS grant which has expired, and the current agreement
between the City of Paducah and Paducah Public Schools expires at the end of this month. This new one-year agreement,
which has been approved by the School Board, outlines cost sharing for the continued partnership with the school district
reimbursing the City 70% of the cost for each police officer. The City provides two certified officers who serve as school
resource officers at Paducah Tilghman High School and Paducah Middle School. These officers work to provide students and
teachers a safe and secure learning environment, provide safety training for students and faculty, assist with security at special
events, promote positive relationships, and more.
Additional Meeting Information
Two interns were introduced to the Board: Wes Banks who is assisting in the Planning Department and Alyssa
Blanchard who is assisting in the Engineering Department.
Municipal Order approved to adopt the fiscal year 2026 Title VI Program Plan. The City is committed to enforcing
the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and its amendments.
Municipal Order approved for a contract to rehire retired Paducah Police Officer Matthew Wentworth to continue

Municipal Order approved authorizing the City Manager to release a request for bids for a non-exclusive
telecommunications franchise in accordance to Paducah Code of Ordinances Chapter 108.
Municipal Order approved for a contract for services with Paducah Junior College, Inc. with the City providing
$100,000 to support the Community Scholarship Program.
Ordinance approved amending the fiscal year 2025 budget regarding the Health Insurance Fund.
