MINUTES – November 21, 2024
Board Members Present: Chair Robert Hernandez, Commissioners Jana Dawson,
Christa Dubrock, Charles Gurley, Irhonda Lovelace, Anthony Walton, and Kimberly

Meeting called to order by Chair Robert Hernandez at 5:01 PM.

October 17, 2024, meeting minutes motion for approval by Commissioner Irhonda
Lovelace Second by Commissioner Charles Gurley and unanimously approved.
October 22, 2024, meeting minutes motion for approval by Commissioner Kimberly
Yates Second by Commissioner Christa Dubrock and unanimously approved.
PHRC January 18th Community Event Update- Program agenda details and
marketing efforts - PHRC members confirmed the HRC Lunch and Learn would be
held January 18th 2025 at Robert Cherry Civic Center from 11:30 am until 1:00pm.
They will use Eventbrite to have attendees register. An advertisement will be
created and sent to Pam Spencer for distribution. Krista will send the slide deck to
everyone, and there will be a 48-hour window for everyone to respond back to with
comments. Be sure to check your photo to see if you like the one used.
Commissioner Dawson will contact churches. Two-minute bios needs to be
submitted to CJ.
It was determined that items of substance should be emailed, and reminders and
quick information will be sent in text messages.
Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame Nov. 22nd attendance – Chairman Hernandez will
be attending. Two local residents were nominated, JW Cleary and Commission
Raynarldo Henderson.
Inclusion of youth or school system in PHRD efforts – they would like to
have a school choir perform at the event.
Community Outreach Efforts – CJ brought up an opportunity where HRC would
provide a 30 second video that gets played at Cinemark, Calvert City Drive-in, and
Maiden Alley Cinemas to run educating/ advertising the HRC. Anyone at Movie
would see and ne educated on HRC. Cost would be for Gorilla Marketing to create
video. He will work on a quote/cost for video.
Chariman Hernandez will work on developing a calendar of events for 2025.
Meeting adjourned at 6:06 pm , the motion was made by Commissioner Irhonda
Lovelace and seconded by Commissioner Kimberly Yates.
