ORDINANCE NO. 98-1-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF
MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That salaries of the employees of the Fire Department of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, are hereby amended to read as follows:
"Number, rank and salaries of members of department.
"(a) The number and rank of members of the Fire Department of the City of
Paducah and the salary of each position that shall be paid upon satisfactory completion of
consecutive years of service in the Fire Department shall be as follows:

All members who are required to wear uniforms shall be paid compensated with an
amount as established by the most current bargaining unit agreement."
SECTION 6. That "Salary of trainees", of Article H "Fire Department" of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that same as amended and reordained shall
hereafter read as follows:
"Each person employed as an applicant -candidate for employment as a firefighter
shall be paid, effective July 1, 49 1997, the hourly wage of $5.7942 $5.9970 at the same time
other regular firefighter wages are paid, and such wage shall be for training time at the rate of
forty (40) hours per week. Upon completion of a minimum of thirty (30) days' acid a maximum of
sixty (60) days' training as an applicant -candidate, the individual shall, upon recommendation of
the Chief of the Paducah Fire Department, be assigned for further training with a regular platoon."
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be retroactive to July 1, 1997.
SECTION 8. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and shall become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
