Old Business/Follow-up: By-laws Committee updates: a. Members: Jonathan, Amie Clark – Nothing to report Progress Trees for review and/or permit approval: a. None at present – Discussed a few trees on city property planted by Paducah Housing Authority near the Paducah seniors center. This was a parks task that has been recently taken care of. New/On-going Business: Statewide Invasive Species ban – focused on Callery Pears (Lexington Tree Board taking lead) a. Nothing new to report General updates from Board? a. City/County Planning commission meetings? Department Updates? a. Engineering – Greg Guebert alerted the TAB that there are several new roadway/sidewalk projects soon to take place around S 24th and S 28th streets near Tilghman H.S. that are likely to affect some mature trees growing along the R/W. Also, a previous tree review by the TAB at 1400 Reed Ave. has been revived – Greg informed the property owner of the TAB/City opinion and at this point the opinion has not changed. Guebert is going to ask the owner to submit a tree removal permit for another review by the TAB/City. b. Parks – Jared Marsden/Amy Clark reported that there have been several trees removed and/or cleaned up around Noble Park, Lang Park, and a removal at Forest Cove Park. Also, a removal is scheduled on a large oak at MLK Jr. Park (near 21st St.) Next Meeting Dates (as posted on paducahky.gov calendar): October 17, 2024, 8:30 AM, Teams Room December 19, 2024, 8:30 AM, Teams Room OUR PURPOSE: (1) To hear all appeals from denials of applications for permits required by this article. (2) To adopt rules for the conduct of such hearings, which rules shall uniformly apply to all such appeals. (3) To follow the hearing of such appeal to cause its decision to be reduced to writing. (4) To advise appropriate municipal agencies on matters of care, preservation, planting, removal, replacement or disposition of trees in parks, along streets and in public areas as needed. (5) To promote urban forestry. (6) To review and recommend as necessary the master street tree plan prepared and submitted by the Appointee. Attached Images:
