HomeMy WebLinkAbout6-24-20 Brooks Stadium Commission Meeting Minutes225982 A called meeting ofthe Brooks Stadium Commission was conducted on June 24,2020 at Brooks Stadium. Board members present were Richard Abraham, Chip Cox, Howard Finley, Sam Goode, Frank Hideg, Bill Pinkston, and Jay Smith. The meeting was called to order President Doc Hideg. An invocation was provided by fuchard Abraham. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chip Cox. Reading of the minutes of the last meeting was waived. Reading ofa financial report/budgeVmarketing report was waived although Chip Cox indicated that there was approximately $65,000.00 in the checking account. President Doc Hideg provided a report as to the field condition of Brooks Stadium. Doc reported that there had been a virus with the grass but that he thought it had been solved. Doc reported that progress is being made on an addition of a second "party deck" on the first base side. He anticipated that this might be completed by the end ofcalendar yeu 2020. President Hideg discussed the addition of more outfield signs to be installed on either side ofthe "Welcome to our Home" sign in left center field. The Commission heard a proposal from the Kentucky Prospects Collegiate Baseball League to play ten (10) games with a three-game postseason starting June 29,2020 and concluding by August 26, 2020. The League is to be made up of two separate teams of approximately 20 players per team. These are college players from the vicinity who would like to have an opportunity to play a little bit before they retum to college in the fall. The Commission voted to permit the aforesaid 13 game schedule and told Prospects League Representatives that it would require a written contract with adequate liability protection for the stadium.
