A called meeting of the Brooks Stadium Commission was conducted on 3-17-15 at
the offices of Paducah Parks and Recreation Department.
Commission members present were: New member Chip Cox; President Frank
Hideg; Treasurer Neel Carroll; Secretary Bill Pinkston; Greg McKeel; Howard
Finley; Mark Thompson; and guest Aimee Denton.
ln invocation was offered by Neel Carroll. Frank Hideg led the Commission in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
A reading of the minutes of the last commission meeting was waived by motion
made, seconded and affirmed.
Treasurer Neel carrol provided a financial report: Brooks stadium, as of this
morning, has 581,000 in its checking account. President Hideg thereupon
presented Mr. Carroll with a check from the City of Paducah in the amount of
S1O,OOO, which is the City's usual annual contribution. Therefore, when
deposited, the balance in checkbook will increase to 591,000. Treasurer Carroll
reported that the Paducah Chiefs presently have 559,000 in its checking account.
Philip Morgan is working on a quote for additional insurance for the
Commissioners. Neel Carrol is taking the lead on investigating that'
Bill Pinkston and Frank Hideg reported on website development. Doug Painter in
Pinkston's office reports that Google has yet to "index" the Paducah chiefs. when
it completes that process, one will be able to type in "Paducah Chiefs" and the
Google will take one directly to the chief's "page" now contained in the Brooks
Stadium website. President Hideg reported that all schedules for the 2016 season
will be uploaded to the website by CVS within 3 weeks.
President Hideg reported on the National collegiate Baseball Association post
season tourney to be conducted from 5/22toSl28/t6 at Brooks'

The Southern lllinois Miners will play at Brooks on 5-7-16. President Hideg urged
all Commission members to turn out to work that night.
Murray State University will play UK in May. Beer will be sold at that game.
The Polk Brooks Tournament will be conducted this summer. Not a beer game.
A free Youth Baseball Clinic will be conducted by the City's Parks and Recreation
Department on May 25,2016.
President Hideg reported that the Stadium itself is in "good shape", since there
were several mild days this winter on which to work'
Commisssioner Greg McKeel, who is also the General Manager of the Chiefs,
thereupon reported on the Chief's progress so far this spring:
1. 25 players have been signed up for this season. 25 of them have already
paid their $600 participation fee for the season.
2. Leo Green, former commissioner and friend of baseball, is in a hospital
in Nashville recovering from a heart cathete rization.
3. The Chief's printed "program" was described and a sample from one of
the other teams in the OVSCBL was passed around. Paducah Bank is
paying for the programs and has agreed for the Chiefs to keep any other
advertising revenue from the programs.
a. Greg McKeel and Leo Green are selling ads for the program'
4. Corporate nights have been sold for 51,000 per night. So far, seven
corporations have signed up to have their own "night at the ballpark",
whereby their employees can come for free, etc'
5. 40 complete sets of uniforms are ordered, all of which are paid for by
Paducah Bank.
6. Lenora Goode has signed up 11 "host families" to house players' We'd
like to have 20 families total, in case some have to drop out, etc'
7. Jeff Parker has offered to run the concession stand for 15% of the sales.
He will sell food, but not beer.
8. Beer sales: Donnie Woods, the ABC inspector, has inspected the
Stadium. That appears to be the "final piece" in the beer license
application process. Our license should be here in next couple of weeks.
9. The commissioners want to explore the possibility of selling "gambling
tickets". Mark Thompson said that is something that is licensed by the
State of Kentucky.
On motion made, seconded, and affirmed, the meeting was adjourned.
