COMBINED MINUTES OF BROOKS STADIUM COMMISION AND PADUCAH
CHIEFS, INC., MEETING 7-t7 -19
A called meeting of the Brooks Stadium Commission was conducted on January
L7,2019 at the offices of Commission Member Chip Cox. Members present were
President Frank Hideg, Treasurer Neel Carroll, Secretary Bill Pinkston, Lenora
Goode, Jay Smith, Howard Finley, and Greg McKeel.
Newly-appointed member Sam Goode was introduced to the Commission and
welcomed. Lenora Goode has taken "Member Emeritus" status and her
continued enthusiastic support and participation is welcomed by all.
An invocation was said by Jay Smith. Frank Hideg led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Reading of the minutes of the last meeting of the Commission was waived.
A financial report was given by Treasurer Carroll, who stated that the bank
account showed a balance of 588,958.70. The profit and loss sheet was reviewed
and approved. Financial documents are attached herewith.
President Hideg announced that the playing schedule for 2079 will be the same as
it was for 20L8. Greg McKeel stated that Murray State University probably will
not play a game at the Stadium this season,
Lenora Goode advocated for one Chiefs'game this season to be a "Bark in the
Park" day. The date was still to be determined but probably will be Opening
Night, June 1,,2019.
Greg McKeel, Member and General Manager of the Chiefs, announced that the
Chiefs will play 20 home games this season.
A "Super Heros" night at the Chiefs was discussed but no specific date was
established
The Commission discussed the need for an "Oversight Committee". President
Hideg discussed the purchase of a new law mower. Field maintenance issues were
discussed: President Hideg described his search for a new grass provider and the
need for protective netting for the Diamond Deck.
The Commission agreed to resume conducting four regular meetings, as described
in the By Laws, to be the first Thursday of February, May, September and
December.
The Commission Members, who are also the Members of Paducah Chiefs, lnc.,
discussed the following items respecting the Chiefs:
General Manager Greg McKeel discussed the following items:
At present there are signed contracts for 15 players. The goal is to sign 15
pitchers.
Chiefs uniforms have been ordered, at expense of 53,000.
CFSB will continue to sponsor the bus for road games, a value of 59,000.
The Chiefs are still looking to sign up Corporate Night sponsors. As of this
meeting, four corporations had signed up.
Game Day Program ads are being sold: S:OO for full page ad; 5200 for half-page
ad; S1OO for quarter page ad.
GM McKeel now has commitments for housing 15 players through the "Host
Family" program. Seven to eight more families are still needed.
The Chiefs' coaching staff for the 2019 season will once again feature Joe Hall as
the field manager. Gabriel Shaw and Chad may be leaving.
There being no further business, the Joint Meeting of the Brooks Stadium
Commissin and the Paducah Chiefs, lnc., was adjourned,
