HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-7-17 Brooks Stadium Commission Meeting Minutest7 MTNUTES OF BROOKS STADtUM COMMTSSTON MEETTNG 72-7-20 The Brooks Stadium Commission met on 12-7-17 at the offices of the Paducah Parks Department. Commission members present were President Frank Hideg, Treasurer Neel Carrol, Secretary Bill Pinkston, Chip Cox, Howard Finley, Greg McKeel and Mark Thompson. The Minutes of the last Commission meeting of 70-26-77 were read and approved. Treasurer Carroll provided a financial report. He reported that the Commission had a bank account balance of 548,171.92. President Hideg confirmed the spring, 2018, schedule of games for PTHS, Miners vs. Evansville, and MSU vs. UK. President Hideg reported on the state of Stadium maintenance: routine maintenance continues to be performed in preparation for the 2018 season. Leaves need to be raked. Clay needs to be added to the infield to make it "less soft". The City of Paducah will re-stripe the parking lot. This Commission will be responsible for painting handicapped striping within the stadium itself. President Hideg recommended that the blacktop inside the stadium be sealed. President Hideg discussed the scheduled completion of the Diamond Deck this coming spring with respect to painting and the installation of fans. President Hideg discussed meetings with WKYTC officials about the possibility of having it broadcast Paducah Chiefs games. That does not appear to be likely for the 2018 season. Greg McKeel, Commission member and General Manager of the Paducah Chiefs thereupon reported on various items pertaining to the Chiefs and the 2018 season. Greg implored Commission members to consider serving as host families 209190 The meeting was called to order by President Hideg. Treasurer Carroll offered the invocation and led the Commission in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. for the ballplayers in 2018 and asked for help in selling advertising and season tickets. Greg discussed current efforts at selling Chiefs' merchandise by, among other things, offering these items for sale at Hooper's Sporting Goods in downtown Paducah. The next Commission was scheduled for February t,2Ot8. There being no further business, on motion made and seconded, the meeting was adjo u ned. Bill Pinkston, Secretary t2-7-77
