MINUTES – February 15, 2024
Board Members Present: Chair Robert Hernandez, Commissioners Jana Dawson,
Christa Dubrock, Irhonda Lovelace, Anthony Walton, and Kimberly Yates.
Board Member Not Present: Dann Patterson
Meeting called to order by Chair Robert Hernandez at 4:45 PM.
Roll Call by: Stefanie Wilcox at 4:45 P.M.
Quorum established – Established at 4:46 P.M.
Additional Attendees: Pam Spencer, Communications Manager
Invocation: Commissioner Irhonda Lovelace
Pledge of Allegiance: Led by Commissioner Kimberly Yates
January 18, 2024, meeting minutes motion for approval by Commissioner Christa
Dubrock, Second by Commissioner Irhonda Lovelace, and unanimously approved.
Media Training was provided to the Commission by Pam Spencer. Handout in
packet.
Pam Spencer discussed previous events that former Human Rights Commissions
have offered. They include a Fair Housing Luncheon, and an Evening of
Performance.
The Commission decided the would like to host a Fair Housing Luncheon on
Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Robert Cherry Civic Center from 11:30 am – 1:00
pm. They would look at speakers between now and the next meeting.
The Commission then reviewed potential logos and decided on a few changes to
one that would be sent out and reviewed for approval.
There were two calls and one visitor during the month of January, none resulted in
complaints.
The meeting adjourned at 6:01 pm, the motion was made by Commissioner
Irhonda Lovelace, and seconded by Commissioner Kimberly Yates, and
unanimously approved.
