AN ORDINANCE AFFIXING THE LEVIES AND RATES OF
TAXATION ON ALL PROPERTY WHICH IS LOCATED IN
DISTRICT 9 AS DEPICTED IN THE RECORDS OF
MCCRACKEN COUNTY PROPERTY VALUATION
ADMINISTRATOR'S OFFICE FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES
FOR THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1, 1999 THROUGH
JUNE 30,1999, WITH THE PURPOSE OF SAID TAXES AS
HEREUNDER DEFINED
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has heretofore levied an ad valorem tax for the
purpose of aiding, assisting, and maintaining the Paducah Junior College, which levy was made upon
real and personal property located in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, excepting that real and personal
property located in District 9 as depicted in the records of the McCracken County Property Valuation
Administrator's Office; and
WHEREAS, the County of McCracken has heretofore levied an ad valorem tax for the
purpose of aiding, assisting, and maintaining the Paducah Junior College, which levy was made upon
real and personal property located in District 9 and all other territory outside the City of Paducah,
Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, McCracken County has determined that it will not levy such tax upon the
real and personal property located in District 9 for the calendar year of 1999 and thereafter; and
C, WHEREAS, simultaneous with the enactment of this ordinance, the City of Paducah
has made such a levy for the Paducah Junior College on all property located within the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, including that real and personal property located in District 9 for the City's fiscal year, which
fiscal year commences July 1, 1999, and ends June 30, 2000; and
WHEREAS, by reason of the foregoing, no levy was made by either the City of
Paducah nor McCracken County upon the real and personal property located in District 9 for the period
of January 1, 1999 to June 30, 1999; and
WHEREAS, to cure such inequity, the City of Paducah does desire to make a levy
upon the real and personal property located in District 9 for the period of January 1, 1999 to June 30,
1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City of Paducah, Kentucky:
SECTION 1. It is hereby levied an ad valorem tax of one and five -tenths cents
($0.015) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation of all real property subject to
taxation which is located in District 9 for the period from January 1, 1999 through June 30, 1999, for
the purpose of aiding, assisting, and maintaining Paducah Junior College, which tax shall be and the
same is hereby declared to be a tax for school purposes.

SECTION 2. There is hereby further levied an ad valorem tax of one and seven -tenths
cents ($0.017) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation of all personal property
subject to taxation located in District 9, except for inventory, for the period from January 1, 1999
through June 30, 1999, for the purpose of aiding, assisting, and maintaining Paducah Junior College,
which tax shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a tax for school purposes.
cl� SECTION 3. The levy for the ad valorem tax on inventory located in District 9, as
historically defined by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, shall be set at the specified rate set forth below
per One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation for the purpose of aiding, assisting, and
maintaining Paducah Junior College, which tax shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a tax for
school purposes as follows:

SECTION 4. The assessed value of said real and personal property shall be the
assessed value as determined in January 1998.
SECTION 5. Property taxes levied herein shall be due and payable on or before
February 29, 2000.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
