AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH
PLANNING COMMISSION ON THE PROPOSED ZONE CHANGE FOR SEVERAL LOTS,
TRACTS, AND PARCELS OF LAND GENERALLY BOUNDED BY SOUTH 24TH
STREET, WASHINGTON STREET, SOUTH 28TH STREET AND BROADWAY FROM R-2,
- H -M HOSPITAL MEDICAL ZONE AND AMENDING THE PADUCAH
R -4&B 1 TO ,
ZONING ORDINANCE SO AS TO EFFECT SUCH REZONING
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That a resolution passed by the Paducah Planning Commission on
June 7, 1999, and entitled, "A RESOLUTION CONSTITUTING THE FINAL REPORT OF
THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION ON THE PROPOSED ZONING CHANGE FOR
SEVERAL LOTS, TRACTS, AND PARCELS OF LAND GENERALLY BOUNDED BY
SOUTH 24TH STREET, WASHINGTON STREET, SOUTH 28TH STREET AND
BROADWAY," be approved as the final report of said Commission respecting the matters therein
set forth.
SECTION 2. That the zone classification and the map amendment proposed in
said resolution be, and the same are hereby, declared to be in agreement with the comprehensive
plan of the City of Paducah.
SECTION 3. That the zone classification of the following described property be,
and it is hereby, changed from R-2 (Low & Medium Density Residential Zone), R-4, (High
Density Residential Zone) and B-1, (Convenience & Service Zone), to H -M, (Hospital Medical
Zone):
BEGINNING WHERE THE CENTER LINE OF BROADWAY INTERSECTS
THE CENTER LINE OF SOUTH 24 TH STREET; THENCE FROM SAID
POINT OF BEGINNING PROCEED IN A SOUTHEASTERLY DIRECTION
ALONG AND WITH THE CENTER LINE OF SAID SOUTH 24 TH STREET,
826.00 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION WITH THE CENTER LINE OF
WASHINGTON STREET; THENCE IN A SOUTHWESTERLY DIRECTION
ALONG AND WITH THE CENTER LINE OF SAID WASHINGTON STREET,
1,389.43 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION WITH THE CENTER LINE OF
SOUTH27 TH STREET; THENCE IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION
ALONG AND WITH THE CENTER LINE OF SAID SOUTH 27 TH STREET,
206.25 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION WITH THE CENTER LINE OF A 24
FOOT WIDE PUBLIC ALLEY; THENCE IN A SOUTHWESTERLY
DIRECTION ALONG AND WITH THE CENTER LINE OF SAID ALLEY,
105.00 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION WITH THE PROJECTED SOUTH
WESTERLY LINE OF A PARCEL OF PROPERTY PRESENTLY OWNED BY
LORNE CHILDRESS AND WIFE, DENISE R. CHILDRESS AS INDICATED
BY DEED RECORDED IN DEED BOOK 786, PAGE 52 OF THE
McCRACKEN COUNTY COURT CLERK'S OFFICE; THENCE IN A SOUTH
EASTERLY DIRECTION ALONG AND WITH SAID PROJECTED SOUTH
WESTERLY LINE, 206.25 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION WITH THE
CENTER LINE OF WASHINGTON STREET AFORESAID; THENCE IN A
SOUTHWESTERLY DIRECTION ALONG AND WITH THE CENTER LINE
OF SAID WASHINGTON STREET TO THE POINT OF INTER -SECTION
WITH THE PROJECTED NORTHEASTERLY LINE OF A PARCEL OF
PROPERTY PRESENTLY OWNED BY DOROTHY ROGERS, WIDOW OF
JAMES A. ROGERS, JR, AS INDICATED BY DEED RECORDED IN DEED

OFFICE; THENCE IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION ALONG AND

WITH THE CENTER LINE OF KENTUCKY AVENUE; THENCE IN A
NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION ALONG AND WITH SAID CENTER LINE
OF KENTUCKY AVENUE, 130.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF INTERSECTION
WITH THE PROJECTED NORTHEASTERLY LINE OF A TRACT OF LAND
PRESENTLY OWNED BY FARMER, WEBER & MILLER AS INDICATED
BY DEED RECORDED IN DEED BOOK 797,PAGE 189 OF THE McCRACKEN
COUNTY COURT CLERK'S OFFICE; THENCE IN A NORTHWESTERLY
DIRECTION ALONG AND WITH SAID PROJECTED NORTHEASTERLY LINE,
206.25 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION WITH THE CENTER LINE OF A
24 FOOT WIDE PUBLIC ALLEY; THENCE IN A NORTHEASTERLY
DIRECTION ALONG AND WITH THE CENTER LINE OF SAID ALLEY
CROSSING SOUTH 27 TH STREET, 611. 10 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION
WITH THE PROJECTED NORTHEASTERLY LINE OF A PARCEL OF LAND
PRESENTLY OWNED BY MICHAEL STONE AS INDICATED BY DEED
RECORDED IN DEED BOOK 838, PAGE 618 OF THE AFORESAID CLERK'S
OFFICE; THENCE IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION ALONG AND
WITH SAID PROJECTED LINE, 205.67 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION
WITH THE CENTER LINE OF BROADWAY; THENCE IN A NORTHEASTERLY
DIRECTION ALONG AND WITH SAID CENTER LINE, 1,070.97 FEET TO
THE POINT OF BEGINNING AND CONTAINING 1,310,921 SQUARE FEET
OR 30.09 ACRES, MORE OR LESS.
SECTION 4. That if any section, paragraph or provision of this ordinance shall be
found to be inoperative, ineffective or invalid for any cause, the deficiency or invalidity of such
section, paragraph or provision shall not affect any other section, paragraph or provision hereof, it
being the purpose and intent of this ordinance to make each and every section, paragraph and
provision hereof separable from all other sections, paragraphs and provisions.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
