AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT FOR SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND
GREATER PADUCAH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (GPEDC)
WHEREAS, GPEDC is a non-profit organization charged with the
economic development of Paducah and McCracken County; and
WHEREAS, the services of GPEDC are for the direct benefit of the
citizens of the City of Paducah; and
WHEREAS, promoting investment and economic development in the
Paducah area serves as a valid public purpose; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to contract with GPEDC for
services to be described under the terms and conditions of a contract between the parties.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute
a Contract for Services in the amount of $100,000, and other considerations, with
Greater Paducah Economic Development Council (GPEDC). This contract shall expire
on June 30, 2001.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to the following account:
001-1204-513-2307.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
