MEETING OF PADUCAH GOLF COMMISSION
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN LOYD AT 5:00 P.M. AT PAXTON PARK.
CHAIRMAN LOYD LED THE COMMISSION IN THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: CHAIRMAN RICK LOYD, STEVE SELTZER, JEANNE STROUP, BILL
WELLS, MARK KETTLER AND JOHN W. GILL, SECRETARY.
OTHERS PRESENT: DIRECTOR DANIEL R. MULLEN
MOTION BYIEANNE STROUP TO APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 2020 MINUTES AS WRITTEN.
MOTION SECOND BY MARK KETTLER. MOTION CARRIED.
CHAIRMAN LOYD REQUESTED PRESENTATION OF OLD BUSINESS:
CHARIMAN LOYD: ASKED ABOUT OUR EQUIPMENT BEING PURCHASED BY THE CITY THAT HAS
BEEN PARTIALLY RECEIVED. DIRECTOR MULLEN NOTED WE EXPECT THE UTILITY VEHICLE WITH
SPRAY ATTACHMENT TO BE DELIVERED IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE CITY STIPEND WILL BE $75,000 AND WE ARE EXPECTING IT IN THE
NEXT WEEK OR SO. DIRECTOR MULLEN SPOKE WITH THE CITY MANAGER AND THANKED HIM
FOR ALL HE HAS DONE AND GLAD HE IS PART OF THE CITY'S TEAM.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE CITY MANAGER SAID HE WOULD TALK TO RICK MURPHY ABOUT THE
MUCH NEEDED PAVING OF THE PARKING LOT.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: GEORGE BRAY, CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR, VISITED THE PARK AND HAS
REPEATED HIS DESIRE TO HELP PAXTON PARK SHOULD HE PREVAIL IN THE UPCOMING
ELECTION.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: STILL WAITING ON VIDEO FROM KENNY AND RUSS RELATING TO THE
GOFUNDME PAGE AND IS WAITING ON RESPONSE FROM EMMA. HOPEFULLY BY THE NEXT
MEETING WE WILL HAVE A VIDEO TO REVIEW.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE SENIORS EVENT WENT WELL WITH OUR OWN MARK KNECHT
WINNING THE EVENT. WE HAD 103 PARTICIPANTS AND HE PRESENTED THOSE PRESENT WITH
THE FINANCIAL RECAP FOR THIS EVENT.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE PAXTON CUP MATCHES WERE HELD AT PAXTON PARK DUE TO ISSUES
WITH THE GREENS AT SILOS AND EVERYTHING WENT WELL. HOSTING THIS EVENT WILL NOW
BE ELSEWHERE IN 2021 WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN OUR NORMAL PLACE IN THE ROTATION.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: THANKED JEANNE FOR ASSISTING WITH THE EMAIL BLAST RELATING TO
DIVOT FILLING BY PUTTING IT ON FACEBOOK.
CHAIRMAN LOYD: REQUESTED PRESENTATION OF NEW BUSINESS:
DIRECTOR MULLEN: PAXTON PARK HOSTED THE LIFELINE RECOVERY CENTER OUTING
RECENTLY AND ALL WENT WELL WITH 80 PARTICIPATING. TODD TRIMBLE EXPRESSED INTEREST
IN BOOKING THIS EVENT FOR 2021 AND ANTICIPATES INCREASED PARTICIATION FOR THIS
EVENT.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: PAXTON PARK WILL HOST A COUPLE OF CULLAN BROWN MEMORIAL
EVENTS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. ONE WILL BE A BLUEGRASS JUNIOR TOUR EVENT ON OCTOBER
31ST WHICH IS FULL AT 104 PLAYERS. ONE DAY IS PLAYED AT PAXTON PARK AND ONE DAY WILL
BE PLAYED AT CALVERT CITY COUNTRY CLUB. THE SECOND WILL BEA GOLF MARATHON
CONDUCTED BY JEFF BIDWELL AND ADAM WELLS OF WPSD-TV ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2No
THEY WILL ATTEMPT TO PLAY FROM SAM UNTIL 10PM THAT DAY IN ORDER TO DRAW
ATTENTION AND DONATIONS TO THE CULLAN BROWN FOUNDATION WHICH IS A NONPROFIT
FUND SET UP TO FACILITATE JUNIOR GOLF IN WESTERN KENTUCKY IN CULLAN'S HONOR. THIS
EVENT WILL BE AIRED SEVERAL TIMES THAT DAY WHICH WILL RESULT IN PUBLICITY FOR OUR
HOSTING THIS EVENT.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: HAS THE COURSE MOVING INTO THE WINTER PREPERATION MODE AND
HAS THIS PROCESS ON TARGET.
DIRECTOR MULLEN: REVIEWED THE STATUS OF PLAY. THIS INCLUDED A DETAILED REVIEW OF
THE QUARTERLY COMPARISON TO BUDGET FOR THE THIRD QUARTER. OUR PROPOSED
BUDGET FOR 2021 WILL BE READY FOR CONSIDERATION AT THE NOVEMBER MEETING.
JEANNE STROUP: SUGGESTED THE COMMISSION EXERCISE CAUTION SHOULD WE CONSIDER
ANY OUTSIDE AGENT FOR PARK ADVERTISING.
JEANNE STROUP: VOLUNTEERED TO GET A THANK YOU CARD FOR ALL TO SIGN AND PRESENT
TO OUR CITY MANAGER TO EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE FOR ALL HIS EFFORTS TO ASSIST PAXTON
PARK.

KEVEN WESTERFIELD AND CRAIG "BLAZE" ARMSTRONG, FOR THEIR RECENT WIN AT ROLLING
HILLS COUNTRY CLUB THREE MAN EVENT.
SECRETARY GILL: UPDATED THE FINANCIAL STATUS AT THIS TIME.
