HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-11-6456207 ORDINANCE NO. 2001-11- 4 ZA5 6 AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING AND RE-CREATING SECTION 34- 52(a), DESCRIPTION, OF SECTION 34-52, ENTERPRISE ZONE, OF CHAPTER 34, COMMUNITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners adopted Municipal Order No. 919 on October 9, 2001, authorizing the Planning Department to apply to the State Enterprise Zone Board for a Enterprise Zone boundary expansion; and WHEREAS, this request was approved by the Enterprise Zone Board on October 12, 2001. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Sec. 34-52(a) "Description", of Sec. 34-52, "Enterprise Zone", of Chapter 34, "Community Planning and Development", is hereby abolished and re-created to hereinafter read as follows: "(a) Description. The following described area is hereby designated to be an Enterprise Zone as under the provisions of KRS 154.45-001 — 154.45-120, which is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point at Ellis Street extended and the thread of the Ohio River, that same point being the northwest corner of the Paducah City boundary; thence in an easterly direction along the tread of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers to a point on the centerline of the extension of the right-of-way of Tully Street; thence in a southerly direction along Tully Street to the earthen levee floodwall; thence in an easterly direction along the earthen levee to the Paducah and Louisville Railway; thence in a northwesterly direction along the railway to a point on Island Creek; thence in a southerly and westerly direction with the Paducah Corporate Limits to the Paducah and Louisville railway; thence in a northerly direction along the railroad to a point of intersection with the right -of way of Division Street; thence westerly" along Division Street to the Old Mayfield Road; thence northward to the intersection of Guthrie Avenue; thence in a westerly direction along Guthrie Avenue to the intersection of 19th Street; thence with 19th Street to Kentucky Avenue; thence in a northeasterly direction along Kentucky Avenue to 13th Street; thence northwest to Broadway; thence southwest along Broadway to 14th Street; thence northwest along 14th Street to Park Avenue; thence in a northeasterly direction along Park Avenue to Boyd Street; thence in a northerly along Boyd Street to 10th Street; thence in a westerly direction along 10th Street to the point of intersection of the centerline of Atkins Avenue, that same point lying 300' east of the east right-of-way of Julia Street (H. C. Mathis Drive); thence south along the centerline of Atkins Avenue 148.4 feet to a point; thence in a westerly direction along the centerline of an unnamed alley 1,080 feet to a point on the centerline of Helen Street; thence south along the centerline of Helen Street 357.45 feet to the intersection of the centerline of an unnamed alley; thence west along the centerline of this alley 336.5 feet to a point of intersection of the centerline of an unnamed alley; this second alley herewith described as thirteen (13) feet wide and lying perpendicular to W the line of traverse, thence south along the centerline of this alley 505.2 feet to a point on the north right-of-way of Cairo Road; thence in a westerly direction along the north right-of- way of Cairo Road 595 feet, more or less to the point of intersection of the Paducah City Limits; thence in a northerly and easterly direction along the boundary of the City of Paducah to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. This ordinance, by reference, incorporates zone boundary changes previously made by action of the Board of Commissioners in Municipal Order No. 410 and Municipal Order No. 475. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
