A regular meeting of the members of the Paducah Main Street Board was held on Monday, February 25,
2019, at 3:00 p.m., at City Hall in the Commission Chambers’ Ante Room

MINUTES –JANUARY 28, 2019 MEETING
Member Smolen made a motion to accept the minutes of the January 28 meeting as presented.
Member McMillian seconded.
Motion approved: Vote 5-0
Vote: Yea-Bryant, Smolen, McMillian, Poimboeuf, Canter Na-None
MONTHLY REINVESTMENT STATS
Staff presented an update of the Kentucky Main Street reinvestment stats. Reinvestment stats will be
reviewed by the Board at the monthly meetings and reported to Kentucky Main Street quarterly.
2019 WORK PLAN DEVELOPMENT
Staff will be working with each Main Street committee to develop work plans for 2019. The 2019 Work
Plan will be reviewed and approved by the Board in April.
2019 VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER
Staff provided an update on the March 7th Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. By consensus it was decided
to hand out “Save the Date” with tear off section to volunteer. Staff will prepare the document.
2019 COMMITTEE REPORTS
Organization – Zack McMillan reported four new members: Jay Hite, Wes Newsome, Stacy Thomas
and Robert Worden and two new volunteers: Zac Hosman and Chris Durfee. Upcoming events
briefly discussed:
Spring Clean Up-April 13, Suggestion: Ask Garden Clubs, Agriculture Clubs and Local
Florists to participate this year
Spring Quilt Week-April 24-27, Main Street Quilt design, with shops handing out the
different blocks

Super Hero Saturday-July 27, to ad diversity to the event Fire and Police will be asked to
participate. Another suggestion was to invite more kid friendly food vendors this year.
Design – Katie Axt reported out that Design Committee did not meet in February. Jeff Cantor
discussed the status of the design guidelines and next steps in its development.
Promotions – New Members: Melanie Reason, Renee Hayden, Susan Grace, Heather Abanatha and
Josh Linville. Board discussed the possibility of adding smaller events throughout the year. Some
people would see something like the Live on Broadway or the Downtown after Dinner events. A
Sunday afternoon events was one suggestion.
Economic Vitality – Staff is working with Jen Frazier to evaluate and potentially develop two new
economic development initiatives that partner the Main Street program with Murray State, WKCTC,
and Paducah School or Art and Design. One is an art entrepreneurship program, and the other will
focus on culinary and food manufacturing.
